REVERE, MASSACHUSETTS: A chilling video is circulating showing masked ICE agents in unmarked vehicles swarming the mother of Karoline Leavitt’s nephew and dragging her away.

The 90-second clip, first obtained by TMZ, shows 33-year-old Bruna Ferreira being intercepted and taken into federal custody on November 12 in Revere, Massachusetts. Her attorney, Todd Pomerleau, confirmed the footage’s authenticity in a statement to the Daily Beast.

Ferreira, a Brazilian national, was closely connected to the Leavitt family. According to Pomerleau, she maintained regular contact with the family while co-parenting her 11-year-old son, who is also the press secretary’s nephew and her godson.

Leavitt, 28, has publicly downplayed the relationship since Ferreira’s detention, while West Wing colleagues claimed she hadn’t spoken to the boy’s mother in “years.” Pomerleau disputed this, stating, “She’s seen and talked to Karoline Leavitt definitely within the past year, if not the past months.”

He noted that Ferreira “literally picked Karoline to be the godmother” of her son, choosing her “over her own sister.” Weeks before the ICE raid, Ferreira attended her son’s rec league football game alongside Karoline’s parents and brother. “Ferreira was a ‘criminal legal alien’ back when she was dating Michael Leavitt, and he had no issue with it," he added.

Video from the scene shows Ferreira driving through a parking lot in a sedan when at least five unmarked vehicles with tinted windows boxed her in. Pomerleau said she was simply heading to pick up her son from school.

Initially, Ferreira appeared to think it was a traffic stop. Agents asked for her license, which Pomerleau called suspicious. “Why would you ask somebody for their license if you already know who you’re pulling over, right?” he said.

Ferreira began digging through her purse when one agent asked, “Are you Bruna?” The agents quickly yanked her out, slammed her against a vehicle, and handcuffed her. One officer even drove off in Ferreira’s car.

Her sister, Graziela Dos Santos Rodrigues, told the Boston Globe that Ferreira repeatedly mentioned her son’s aunt was the White House press secretary. She is now being held at the South Louisiana ICE Processing Center in Basile.

Ferreira came to the US at age six and received DACA protections in 2012, shielding her from deportation and allowing legal work. Pomerleau said the Leavitt family knew Ferreira was pursuing a green card, but DHS claims she overstayed a tourist visa.

Pomerleau insists the Leavitt family was well aware that Ferreira was in the middle of securing a green card, which would allow her to remain in the US permanently. DHS, however, claims the Brazilian-born mother overstayed a tourist visa.
