WASHINGTON, DC: President Joe Biden's administration is preparing a significant move aimed at securing Latino votes in crucial battleground states such as Nevada and Arizona.

Following a recent executive action targeting border crossings, the incumbent administration is now considering measures to provide legal status to long-term undocumented immigrants married to American citizens, as reported by CNN.

Joe Biden's new policy will permit certain undocumented immigrants to work legally

Although the final details are yet to be confirmed, officials are evaluating the potential of utilizing "parole in place" – a legal authority that could protect certain undocumented immigrants from deportation and permit them to work legally as they pursue citizenship.

These orders have not yet been presented to Biden for review, but polling data analyzed by top White House aides and campaign strategists are pushing this initiative forward.

In states like Arizona, where every vote counts, the move could have a substantial impact. Democratic Arizona Senator Mark Kelly stated, "Everything is on the margins, right? My sense is it should help."

Estimates suggest that the policy could directly benefit between 750,000 to 800,000 individuals, with a broader ripple effect on their spouses, children, extended families, and friends, most of whom belong to the Latino community.

This translates to millions of potential votes in key states like Arizona, Nevada, and Georgia – all of which are expected to be tightly contested in the upcoming election.

One individual involved in the discussions highlighted the necessity of regaining control over the border narrative, stating, "We have lost the narrative on the border, and so we need to start winning it back."

The source added, "Latino voters in particular are extremely enthusiastic about seeing something done to help people they know. It is either a direct relative or friend, someone they work with. It is such a powerful signal to these communities that you care about them, and you understand what’s happening there."

The proposed action could become the federal government’s most significant relief program since the introduction of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) in 2012 during Barack Obama's presidency.

The DACA program, which allowed undocumented immigrants who arrived in the US as children to live and work legally, was a pivotal moment in Obama's reelection campaign. Biden, serving as vice president at the time, played a role in those discussions.

President Joe Biden's new move targeting Latino voters draws flak online

One Facebook user wrote, "Panderer In Chief," and another remarked, "He's burying himself politically."

"The President has no power to blank grant citizenship outside the bounds of immigration law. Illegals married to Americans can apply for green cards and citizenship. Biden is desperate to buy votes," commented a person.

Someone else claimed, "Biden has no spine whatsoever, he makes decisions based on polls and votes," and an individual fumed, "The mentality unfit President and his clueless Administration thinks he can fool Americans into voting for him after his almost 4 years of complete disaster."

Another person stated, "Someone better draw the line and stop this idiot, he's giving away our country while we watch," with one more adding, "So basically he knows the only path to victory is by buying votes and democrats are stupid enough to fall for it."
