CHICAGO, ILLINOIS: NewsNation anchor Chris Cuomo put Rep Lauren Boebert on the spot Thursday, February 26 night, demanding to know why questions about UFOs and “PizzaGate” were raised during Hillary Clinton’s deposition tied to Jeffrey Epstein.

The tense exchange unfolded after Clinton disclosed that her closed-door testimony veered into what she called “quite unusual” territory.

Cuomo questions relevance of questions

During the interview, Cuomo directly challenged Boebert on raising conspiracy-linked topics in a proceeding focused on Epstein.

“How do we get to the bottom of what’s going on by asking Hillary Clinton about UFOs and PizzaGate, Lauren?” Cuomo asked.

Boebert defended the scope of the questioning, saying the Epstein files contain a “whole trove of questions to go down.”

She argued that “those topics did come up” based on material in the case files and noted that other lawmakers had shown interest in UFO-related issues.

When Cuomo pressed further - “And UFOs? Like, what did you want to know about UFOs and PizzaGate that would matter to survivors?” Boebert responded that she personally did not ask about UFOs but maintained that with “three million files,” members could explore multiple avenues.

She rejected the suggestion that the questioning was intended to promote fringe theories.

“This isn’t to highlight some big, vast conspiracy about a pizza parlor,” she said, adding that certain matters “should be explained.”

Cuomo suggested such questions could reinforce criticism that Republicans were conducting a “fishing expedition.”

Boebert countered that the volume of records naturally lends itself to broader examination and asserted that Clinton appeared “pretty inquisitive” and “interested” when UFOs were mentioned.

Throughout the interview, Boebert continued to defend the scope of the questioning.

The exchange has since intensified debate over the breadth and seriousness of the congressional inquiry and whether references to conspiracy-linked topics risk overshadowing its stated focus on Epstein’s crimes and victims.

Clinton calls deposition 'quite unusual’

Earlier, Clinton told reporters that her testimony before the House Oversight Committee took an unexpected turn toward the end.

“It then got, at the end, quite unusual because I started being asked about UFOs and a series of questions about Pizzagate, one of the most vile bogus conspiracy theories that was propagated on the internet,” she said.

Clinton reiterated that she never directly met Epstein. Her husband, former President Bill Clinton, who has previously been photographed with Epstein, is testifying at the time of writing this story.
