NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu strongly criticized former President Donald Trump, accusing him of lacking energy in the lead-up to the state's primaries on Tuesday.

Sununu, a supporter of Nikki Haley, endorsed the former United Nations ambassador, stating that she has the momentum to make a strong showing in the New Hampshire primary as the sole major challenger to Trump.

Sununu also took a swipe at the former president, referencing a recent incident where Trump appeared to confuse Haley with former Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif) during a campaign event last week.

Following this news, Fox News anchor Laura Ingraham took to X, formerly known as Twitter to slam Sununu.

Many people on the internet also slammed the governor and called him ‘lunatic.’

Fox News host Laura Ingraham took to X and wrote, “Live Free and Lie. (If Trump is really so weak, what does that say about Haley who can’t be saved by the plutocrats?)”

Ingraham’s tweet featured an article from The Hill titled, “Sununu says Trump has ‘no energy’: ‘He can barely read a teleprompter.’”

In the article, it was reported that Chris Sununu has recently bashed Donald Trump during an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper.

He told Tapper, “So you know, it’s all about the voter turnout. It’s all about the enthusiasm, where’s the energy. Not just what people say on a phone or how they you know, respond to an online text or something.”

He continued, “It’s really about the energy of that campaign. Trump has no energy — the guy can barely read a teleprompter right now. All the wind is behind, Nikki’s sails. So I just think the sky’s the limit.”

Sununu, acting as a prominent surrogate for Haley, has been actively supporting her in the hope of achieving an upset victory in his state this week.

In response to endorsements for the former president from notable GOP figures like Florida Gov Ron DeSantis, North Dakota Gov Doug Burgum, and Sen Tim Scott in recent days, Sununu stated that Haley wasn't seeking endorsements from any of her former rivals anyway.

Sununu said, “Nikki Haley doesn’t want establishment endorsements. She doesn’t want any of them. She really doesn’t. Look, Trump has gone from the disrupter to this establishment guy. He’s never held the Senate accountable. Nikki Haley wants term limits. She says none of them should get paid unless they actually do their job.”

Nevertheless, Trump won the New Hampshire primary, defeating former South Carolina governor Nikki Haley. It was reported that 87% of NH Republican primary voters voted for Trump.

Internet calls Chris Sununu a ‘lunatic’

Many X users blasted Chris Sununu for supporting Nikki Haley.

One person wrote, “If Sununu has ever watched a Trump rally, he knows that Trump doesn't need a teleprompter,” and another said, “Sununu is definitely a totalitarian lunatic RINO snake.”

An X user simply slammed Sununu adding, “Sununu is pushing too hard to placate his hurt feelings. If he’s not careful he’ll pull a Liz Cheney and ruin his career,” and another said, “What a lying 🤡.”

One more person called out the governor, “Sununu s democratic suck,” and another expressed, “Is Sununu confused? Did someone show him a plethora of Biden speeches and convince him it was Trump?”
