LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Christina Applegate recently claimed she contracted food poisoning from a takeout salad that she believes was contaminated by human feces, and she has since become sick.

The 'Dead to Me' star vividly described her recent experience with Sapovirus—a virus that usually spreads by fecal-oral contact—and made light-hearted jokes about how the sickness had her "pissing out of my a** for a few days".

The 52-year-old actress discussed the sequence of events with co-host Jamie-Lynn Sigler, 42, on the most recent 'MeSsy' podcast episode, 'Can I Be Honest?' on Tuesday, April 23.

The Hollywood actress described her decline in health as a result of the food poisoning with her trademark gallantry and transparency, stating that she is still experiencing symptoms and is wearing diapers.

Applegate, who also suffers from multiple sclerosis, admitted, "I'm gonna be gross," on the April 23 episode of her podcast.

"I woke up at 3 o'clock in the morning in a pool of s**t. Didn't know it happened, and having MS at 3 o'clock in the morning and trying to change your sheets, it's not fun," she admitted, per E! News.

Setting the scene, the 'Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead' actress described how she came into contact with Covid-19 from a friend who she thinks might have gotten it from visiting a bowling alley.

Applegate claimed that the health crisis began a few weeks ago when a person "real close" to her "dropped the ball" and carried Covid-19 home, causing her to become infected with the virus for the first time.

Applegate's immune system was already impaired by MS, so her symptoms, such as a chest infection and an accelerated heart rate, were more severe.

She recounted to co-host Jamie-Lynn Sigler, "I was so dizzy. I was really ill. I was so sick. I couldn't eat. I couldn't anything."

The 'Married... with Children' actress performed a stool test during her illness to determine the reason for her vomiting as it was "so gross". She eventually received a Sapovirus diagnosis.

Regarding the illness, Applegate stated: "It is when you ingest the fecal matter of someone else from your food - someone else's poop went into my mouth and I ate it."

According to Applegate, she believes that a takeout salad from a restaurant she has been visiting for 15 years is what initially caused the viral symptoms.

Applegate apologized for having to be so explicit and revealed that the sickness caused her "pissing out of my a** for a few days."

"I'm almost going on three weeks of being sick from this," she added sarcastically, "so that's my fun story."

Applegate added she's developed some strong feelings regarding adult diapers as a result of her experiences with Sapovirus and MS, which can occasionally create issues with bladder control.

"But this brings me to my next point, which we can talk about: I'm wearing diapers," she admitted, per Daily Mail.

Applegate expressed her opinion that diapers lack accessibility and beauty, while Sigler offered her own perspective on the matter. According to the 'Sopranos' alum, adult diapers are typically blush pink.

Applegate earlier revealed to PEOPLE that one of the challenges of living with multiple sclerosis is incontinence, which makes diapers a necessary supply to have on hand.

She said, "Well, you pee ... in your pants. Because you probably can't get to the bathroom in time. So yeah, diapers."
