Chuck Todd in talks to quit NBC after being 'pushed out' of 'Meet the Press': Reports
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: NBC chief political analyst Chuck Todd is set to leave the network after his contract expires later in 2025, Radar Online reported on Monday, January 13.
The development comes more than a year after the former 'Meet the Press' host was reportedly pushed out of the Sunday morning current events talk show that he had helmed for nine years.
Chuck Todd has been in talks with other media organizations
According to Semafor, Chuck Todd has been discreetly meeting with other media organizations in Washington to discuss his future after staying at NBC since 2007.
He has reportedly discussed potential roles both in broadcast and digital media, as per the publication. While he was once a key face of NBC's political broadcasts, his visible presence on the network has declined since 2023.
In 2024, Todd publicly criticized NBC over its decision to hire former Republican National Committee Chair Ronna McDaniel. While the network heeded his words and went back on their decision, his future at NBC came under question.
Sources claimed Chuck Todd did not willingly leave 'Meet the Press'
While Chuck Todd was known to have voluntarily left his hosting duties at 'Meet the Press,' to be replaced by Kristen Welker, insiders close to the newsman claimed that was not the case.

Many insisted that Todd was dumped from the program as a result of low ratings, while one source pointed out, "Kristen isn't just replacing Chuck, she's obliterating him. This isn't a pass-the-baton moment, it's an entirely new race, leaving Chuck vowing revenge. Make no mistake, he was pushed out and is livid. He feels insulted and embarrassed."
Dan Abrams, who worked with Todd on NBC before shifting to the rival network NewsNation, stood up for his former colleague in 2023, saying, "I like Chuck Todd. I think he was often in a no-win situation on that show, but he’s going to stay at NBC and just choose to relinquish his highest profile role with the 2024 election around the corner?"
However, Todd was not particularly easy to work with, as one insider shared, "Chuck can be very difficult — he’s very opinionated — and that has strained some of the relationships internally."
