'Caddyshack' star Cindy Morgan's body was found due to a 'bad stench'

According to the sheriff's office, Morgan's roommate called 911 on the December 30 after returning from a holiday break, while the actress did not answer when she knocked on her door. The roommate reported that she hadn't seen Morgan since December 19, per TMZ.

The roommate who called 911 claimed to have only heard her cats barking in the room and that it had been days since she had seen or spoken to Morgan.

The unnamed roommate reported to dispatchers that the late 'Tron' star's room had a 'bad stench', per the call transcript obtained by the New York Post.

Morgan's roommate ended up contacting 911 after smelling the bad odor, though animal control was scheduled to come into the apartment the next day.

She began the 911 call by saying, "I live in a shared apartment and one of my tenants is like MIA. I'm not sure if she's in there or not but she lives with animals."

"I'm just worried about my tenant... she don't have no one. I just came out of my room and I smell a bad odor coming from the room," the roommate continued.

She added, "When I knock the door, it's just the dogs bark. All along there wasn't any stench, but just now there's this strong, bad odor."

The 'Caddyshack' actress was later discovered dead in her bed by police. She was 69 years old. Fox News was informed by a Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office spokesman that the actress died a "few days ago" from natural causes.

Morgan's most famous role was that of the attractive Lacey Underall in 'Caddyshack'.

Outside of acting, Morgan had a strong charitable commitment to helping US military veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts. She endeavored to mitigate the monetary difficulties those veterans might be facing.

She also worked to generate money for the Illinois Family Relief Fund, which assists the families of active duty members of the National Guard as well as reservists.
