CMT 2024 Worst Dressed: Meghan Patrick's denim dress, Roberta Lea's rhinestone look among fashion misses
12 worst-dressed celebrities at the 2024 CMT Music Awards
Fashion reigns supreme during award season and celebrities from the world of country music brought their 'A' game to the red carpet of the 2024 CMT Music Awards. Some people enjoyed pushing the frontiers of fashion, while others loved to pay tribute to their musical heritage with denim-on-denim and their go-to cowboy boots. There were plenty of unexpected dress choices on the 2024 CMT Awards red carpet with many stars' attire leaving very little to the imagination, while others overindulged. As a result, the roster of the worst-dressed celebrities is piled high.
1. Harper Grace
Harper Grace accessorized her black and silver minidress with more black and silver pieces. The hefty necklace that resembled a silver bow on top of a gift, the hanging black fabric, and the silver chains at the top of her dress gave the impression that Grace built her entire attire out of scraps from gift wrapping, per The List.
2. Cody Belew
Cody Belew twisted his attire by wearing his suit with a mesh shirt underneath instead of going naked under one's suit jacket. He mixed it with too many other aspects, which is disappointing because this may have been an interesting spin on the style. Cody's glittery ensemble seems excessive when combined with other striking details like the mesh shirt and a dazzling, oddly shaped suit.
3. Roberta Lea
Roberta Lea's attire had an abundance of rhinestones and a cowboy hat, two of country music's most beloved fashion trends. Lea looked stunning in the silhouette and cut of her two-piece outfit. However, the hat and huge earrings took the look too far, and the rhinestones made it appear excessive.
4. Carter Faith
Following underwear as an outerwear outfit trend, Carter Faith wore a see-through lace outfit on the red carpet. She was able to pull off a visible underwear look thanks to the extremely high-waisted underwear and strapless bra. Unfortunately, this dress looked more appropriate for a dance performance than the red carpet owing to the lace, glittering finish, and huge shoulder bows.
5. Melissa Etheridge
Melissa Etheridge mastered the difficult task of making an all-black outfit feel like too much. The jacket's glossy texture combined with the leather, beaded slacks, satin-like top, and several striking accessories created an ensemble that had far too many aspects going on at once. The large belt buckle, bulky necklaces, and hat combined to create an eye-catching outfit.
6. Kylie Frey
The 'America's Got Talent' semifinalist looked stunning in her green gown when she arrived at the 23rd CMT Music Awards, but her poor fashion choices were too much to overlook. Despite being a standard item in this genre, Frey's cowboy hat didn't work well on the red carpet. Moreover, her long straight hair pulled her down along with her floor-length gown.
7. Sam Williams
Sam Williams took a few daring fashion risks with his 'I'm Just Ken' outfit choice. Although the bubblegum pink flared pants stand out the most about this ensemble, they might have worked if styled differently. However, the lace-embellished suit jacket didn't mix with the overall style of the pants, and going shirtless underneath and accessorizing with a large pendant necklace made the look seem even more disheveled.
8. Stephanie Quayle
With a big nod to her upcoming book, 'Why Do We Stay?: How My Toxic Relationship Can Help You Find Freedom', Stephanie Quayle's outfit announced its release on April 30. While it makes sense that Quayle is delighted, this dress went a bit too far. Carrying the bag, however, might have accomplished elegance while conveying her statement in an otherwise modest ensemble.
9. Priscilla Block
In an ocean of perplexing attires, Priscilla Block could have had one of the most unambiguous as she wore see-through black pants with a flowery motif and a black corset. This was a bold costume on its own, but it would have looked better with alternative accessories. However, the heavy choker and strappy necklaces added too many confusing features to an already gaudy outfit.
10. Meghan Patrick
Denim simply screams country, as mentioned before but Meghan Patrick's outfit went about doing this completely wrong. Patrick's coloration seems unappealing with this denim's grey, acid-washed style, and wearing a cowboy hat and chunky turquoise as accessories nearly seems like a costume. Also, the matching black fringed denim trench coat is the worst offender here.
11. Leah Turner
Despite not having a matching floor-length jacket, Leah Turner nevertheless managed to surpass Meghan Patrick's denim outfit. There's no denying the uncuteness of this strapless mini dress with a huge denim flower. Turner's fishtail braid, fringe-y sandals, and beige cowboy hat probably didn't help her look any better, but we are not sure what could.
12. Angie K
Angie K wore an all-beige, glossy outfit with cargo trousers that were hard to pull off due to their fabric and color and didn't work to pair them with this intricate shirt either. Moreover, the monochrome top and pants did not coordinate well with the minimalist feel of the shoes or her hair and makeup.
