CNN's Harry Enten says 'bye-bye' to Bondi as Epstein files tank her to negative 19 points
ATLANTA, GEORGIA: The backlash against Pam Bondi had been building for months and according to CNN's Harry Enten, it finally caught up with her.
Breaking down fresh polling data on Friday, April 3, Enten said bluntly, “The American people are saying, ‘Thank God Pam Bondi is gone,’” adding she had begun to “wear on them like an in-law who stayed too late past Christmas vacation.”

Harry Enten details Pam Bondi's decline
Enten walked viewers through how dramatically Bondi’s standing had collapsed over time.
“You know what? She was actually on the positive side of the ledger,” he said, pointing to her early numbers at “plus one points” in January 2025.
But that didn’t last. “The more people got to know Pam Bondi, the less they liked her,” he stated.
By the end of her tenure, her net popularity had plunged to “negative 19 points, a 20-point shift in the wrong direction.”
He tied that decline directly to one major issue, saying, “Of course, one of the key reasons being the Epstein case.” Enten noted that the public “simply put did not like Pam Bondi” as questions around the handling of the files continued to swirl.
To underline just how weak those numbers were, Enten compared Bondi to past attorneys general at the same point in a presidency.
“Look at this- Merrick Garland was actually on the plus side of the ledger at plus 6 points,” he said. In contrast, “Pam Bondi is far more unpopular here at minus 19 points.”
The gap, he stressed, was massive: “We’re talking about Merrick Garland being more than 25 points more popular.”
“That’s the reason why Pam Bondi is bye-bye Bondi,” he said.
Harry Enten claims 'Epstein isn't going away'
Even with Bondi out, Enten warned that the controversy surrounding Jeffrey Epstein will continue to haunt the Trump administration.
“The Epstein case is going to continue to be a big problem,” he said, pointing to broader polling around key issues.
“This is by far the worst issue at negative 40 points,” he added.
He emphasized the scale of the problem by stacking it against other major concerns: “Worse than immigration, worse than foreign policy, worse than the economy, worse than trade and tariffs.”
His takeaway was clear: removing Bondi may change the face of the issue but not the issue itself. “You don’t want to be the face of that issue in the administration,” he added.
Looking ahead, Enten pointed to prediction markets for clues about Bondi’s potential successor.
“Take a look at the prediction market,” he said. "Lee Zeldin is the favorite at this point, 60% chance."
Others trail behind, including Todd Blanche at “a 26% chance,” but Enten made it clear who currently leads the pack: “At this point, Zeldin is in the driver’s seat.”
