CNN host Abby Phillip laughs in Republican guest's face for complaining against Biden labeling Trump a 'convicted felon'

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Panelists on the Thursday, June 6 episode of CNN 'NewsNight', including anchor Abby Phillip, laughed at a Republican guest on the show for complaining about former President Donald Trump being regularly labeled as "a convicted felon" by incumbent Joe Biden, reported Mediaite.

According to the publication, the Biden campaign has increasingly made the jibe against the presumptive GOP nominee ever since he was unanimously found guilty by the jury on 34 felony counts of falsifying business documents in his hush money trial on May 30.

The panel conversation on 'NewsNight'

Trump supporter Betsy McCaughey spoke of a "truce" in the alleged lawfare raged by the Biden administration against the former President, stating, "Well, because Dr Phil was talking about, he used that word before, a truce in the lawfare, in this battle in court between members of the Biden administration and Trump. The fact is, for that to happen, Biden has to call Governor Kathy Hochul and ask her to pardon Trump. Otherwise, it’s like asking for a truce now after the 34th count verdict - it’s just like asking Israel to lay down its arms the day after Hamas violated Israel in October."

The host pointed out that a truce was necessary only if there was any real "evidence of Biden seeking to influence the prosecution," while political analyst Errol Louis shared, "Dr. Phil is a charming man, but there is a reason we don’t let psychologists practice law. What he describes, this need for a truce, for example, assumes things that just simply don’t exist."

"I mean, it is convenient for Donald Trump to say that my political enemy convinced a grand jury of citizens in Manhattan, and a trial jury in Manhattan, and an independently elected local prosecutor, and an independently elected judge to all conspire against me, and therefore, this is Biden’s fault, but that’s just not sensible. It’s just not true. It’s just not the way the system works," he explained.

Phillip added that two cases against Trump were recently put on indefinite hold, which showed the justice system is in favor of the Republicans, something that his party members willfully overlook.

"Well, I do want to talk about it for this reason, because every day now, the Biden administration is labeling Trump a convicted felon. Very interesting... that the prosecution has requested that the gag order against Trump be maintained through the sentencing, way beyond the debate." McCaughey tried to respond, but the panelists reported broke into laughter.

"That is a fact," Phillip told her guest about Trump's conviction.

Internet calls out Donald Trump supporters for complaining

"MAGAs really are that st00pid," a person commented on the Mediaite website responding to the news.

"Witless as usual, no wonder everyone laughs at you," wrote another of McCaughey.

"Republicans hate reality," jibed one.

"Somehow they didn't seem to mind donnie calling everyone a criminal without any evidence," remarked a user.

"How do you deal with people who make denying reality their whole identity?" sarcastically inquired another.
