WASHINGTON, DC: Abby Phillip has slammed former president Donald Trump for making false promises.

Addressing his most recent one, the CNN anchor said on the June 6, Thursday, segment of ‘Newsnight’, “Back in April, Trump promised to announce his plans for access to abortion medication. He said it’ll come in the next week or two.”

“Well, surprise! It is June, and there is still no plan, and, according to sources, those plans don’t exist,” she said, as per HuffPost.

The senior political correspondent also pointed out that “the promise of plans in two weeks is not rare for Trump; in fact, it’s pretty common,” as she played the presumptive GOP presidential nominee’s announcements regarding forthcoming plans on health care, climate, taxes, infrastructure, and the coronavirus pandemic in "two weeks".

Concluding her segment, Phillip stated at the end, “It’s been 10 years and we’re still waiting on a health care plan, by the way.”

Internet reacts as Abby Phillip focuses on Donald Trump's false promises

Abby Phillip's attack on Trump has received a lot of support online as a reader below the HuffPost article commented while thrashing the Republican, “A genius tactic: promise a solution, don’t deliver, wait for someone to solve the problem, then take credit. Rinse, repeat. Oh and blame the other guys if no solution is forthcoming.”

Another reader wrote, “Trump didn't just break his 2016 campaign promises, he made promises that had no chance whatsoever of being fulfilled. A border wall paid for by MEXICO? Making your taxes so simple that you can file them on a postcard. Healthcare that would cost about $15/month, cover more, and be ready to go on his first day in office? Eliminating ISIS/ISIL in 30 days? Putting his opponent, Hillary Clinton, in jail for... reasons? None of these were EVER going to come true, and if anybody believed that they would, then I have a bridge to sell you.”

“Abby Phillip is one of my favorites on CNN,” an X user tweeted.

Another one commented, “Love her.”

“Yes, he is Donald ‘Two Weeks’ Trump. Throw in a made-up ‘Sir’ story. The man is a liar, and we seem to have to talk about it like it’s new news. I pray for the day when this man is not on the airwaves 24/7,” the third user wrote.

The fourth user stated, “I can't actually remember one policy Trump put into place during his so called presidency- except a tax break for billionaires.”

“All of Trump's promised plans will be presented in the BIGGEST TRUMP EVENT EVER featuring EVIDENCE OF WIDESPREAD 2020 ELECTION FRAUD. Special guests James Comer, Jim Jordan, and Rudy Giuliani will perform backup vocals. Mike Lindell will provide swag,” the fifth one added.
