WASHINGTON, DC: Donald Trump once complained about the former president Barack Obama golfing too much while in office. Now, as Trump is in Florida, swinging his clubs over the weekend, CNN aired the montage of the golf-loving POTUS, 78, previously complaining about his predecessor.

Amid the controversy of Trump missing the solemn event of dignified transfer of soldiers on Friday, April 4, CNN host Abby Phillip introduced the video montage on 'NewsNight' while pointing out that the POTUS was hitting the links when the stock market had taken a nosedive following his tariff announcements.

Donald Trump’s past videos criticizing Barack Obama for golfing resurfaced

During Friday’s 'NewsNight', CNN host Abby Philip pulled up past footage of Donald Trump criticizing Barack Obama for indulging in golf while he was the President of the United States.

In several clips from 2015 and 2016, before his first term, Trump claimed that he would not have “enough time” to play golf when he became the POTUS.

During a 2015 rally, Trump blasted the Democrat, saying, “Obama, it was reported today, played 250 rounds of golf," Mediaite reported.

A year later, during a 2016 rally, the MAGA spearhead once again slammed the Nobel Prize winner and accused him of relying too much on “executive orders” since he “doesn’t have enough time because he’s playing golf.”

In another clip, he claimed, “I’m going to be working for you,” before adding, “I’m not going to have time to play golf.”

Pulling up the videos, Phillip obliquely slammed Trump for missing the solemn military events to attend the golf tournament.

Following his momentous tariff announcement on Wednesday, Trump jetted off to his Florida club to attend the LIV Golf tournament on Thursday, April 3. While doing so, he also received backlash for choosing the tournament over attending the dignified transfer of the remains of four US service members at Dover Air Force Base.

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth was in attendance to greet the remains in his stead.

While the POTUS received immense backlash from a section of the media, including from Maggie Haberman, for golfing, an anonymous White House official told the Washington Post recently that Trump has “reached” the peak level of “not giving a f**k” when it comes to bad press about him.

During her 'NewsNight' episode, Phillip brought up the recent Washington Post story, arguing that judging by Trump’s stance on golfing, the claim appeared to be true.

Speaking to her audience, Phillip said, “Donald Trump doesn’t give an F. That’s what one White House official says about the markets plunging over his trade wars. And it appears to be true. As 401Ks and companies suffered today, Trump and his allies, including many of whom cheered him on in the Rose Garden event, were MIA.”

“The House is in recess,” continued the CNN anchor, before adding, “and as for Trump himself, he spent the day working on his golf swing, which is interesting considering what he has said about Democratic presidents.”

Donald Trump is no longer bothered by bad news, says White House official

Abby Phillip's criticism of the president came just at the heels of an anonymous White House official, who claimed to understand Trump's thought process, telling the Washington Post that the bad press no longer bothers the Commander-in-Chief.

“He’s at the peak of just not giving a f**k anymore,” said the official, before adding, “Bad news stories? Doesn’t give a f**k.”

The insider continued, “He’s going to do what he’s going to do. He’s going to do what he promised to do on the campaign trail.”
