Coachella 2024 Day 1: Sabrina Carpenter, Peso Pluma and Shakira stir up a storm with their performances
Top performances by artists that rocked the stage at Coachella Day 1
Music lovers were treated to some electrifying music at this year’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival which began with super-energized performances. From Sabrina Carpenter and Peso Pluma to Shakira, let’s take a look at who vowed the attendees on Day 1 of the annual event.
1. Sabrina Carpenter
It was Sabrina Carpenter’s debut on Day 1 of 2024’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and she did not disappoint. The 24-year-old singer dazzled in a gold jacket as she started her performance with ‘Fast Times'. Her other songs for the evening included ‘Tornado Warnings’, ‘Vicious’, ‘Espresso’, and ‘Read Your Mind’, encouraging people to groove.
2. Peso Pluma and Becky G
Mexican singer Peso Pluma set the stage on fire by introducing his home country’s music to America. Becky G also appeared as a guest performer during his performance and they set the stage on fire. At the end of his set, Pluma paid tribute to some of Mexican music’s prominent figures.
3. Bizarrap and Shakira
The ‘Queen of Latin Music’ appeared as a guest during Bizarrap’s performance. Though the Argentine producer’s set had already hypnotized the attendees, Shakira’s inclusion took it to another level when she began singing, ‘La Fuerte’ before moving forward to ‘Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53’. She gave another reason to her fans to cheer on by announcing a world tour for ‘Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran’.
4. Lil Uzi Vert
Despite announcing their music break in December last year, Lil Uzi Vert performed at Coachella 2024. At the time, the rapper reportedly said, “I want to make music. I love making music but I don’t really wanna make music like that no more… I want to make women’s clothes.” But their April 12 set did not make much noise like their merch with many X users posting photos of their tees.
5. Young Miko
It was Young Miko’s first time at Coachella 2024 and she rocked it by beginning her set with ‘Lisa’. The 25-year-old, carrying a cool look by donning a pair of baggy denim shorts and a tie-dye muscle tee, also sang ‘Tempo’ and ‘CLASSY 101’. She reportedly told the crowd, “Coachella, it’s so exciting to be here, puñeta! We’re going to have a great time. I’m here with a group of talented people. It’s my first time here with you, let’s f—-ing get it!”
6. Chappell Roan
Chappell Roan was on fire during her set at Coachella 2024. She reportedly called out her ex during the performance and said, “This one goes out to my ex because, b***h, I know you’re watching,” before introducing ‘My Kink Is Karma’.
7. Tinashe
Tinashe gave her electrifying performance on April 12 at Coachella. Via her X account, she tweeted, “COACHELLA! Yall ain’t ready for how NASTY this show is going to be tonight 🔥🔥🔥 6:55 Mojave tent !!! 😤 & for those of you at home, Don’t miss the live stream!.”
8. Ateez
Ateez, which includes Hongjoong, Seonghwa, Yunho, Yeosang, San, Mingi, Wooyoung, and Jongho reportedly delivered an exhilarating set on April 12. Jongho also teased a very exciting announcement for the band’s fans by saying, “We don't want tonight to end. If only it could last forever. But, I guess, we can pick back up for another show another time, maybe this summer? I will tell you about it later.”
9. Lana Del Rey and Billie Eilish
Lana Del Rey mesmerized everyone as she included Billie Eilish in her set. The two stars sang ‘Ocean Eyes’ and ‘Video Games’. Rey also hailed Eilish by calling her “the voice of your generation.” The 22-year-old complimented her back by adding, “This is the reason for half of you b***hes’ existence, including mine.”
