LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Colin Jost of 'Saturday Night Live' is accustomed to being the target of jokes, but the spotlight on him intensified when one of his red-carpet encounters with movie star wife Scarlett Johansson went viral.
Following the incident's meme status, Seth Meyers made sure to playfully roast his former colleague during his appearance on 'Late Night'.

Seth Meyers echoed the sentiments of many fans with his commentary, as Johansson appeared just as baffled in the clip as viewers probably were when they watched it. Even though Jost was physically present on the red carpet of the 2023 American Museum of Natural History Gala, his mind seemed to be in a different realm.
Naturally, the perplexed expression on his face sparked online discussions about the intriguing circumstances. When defending against Meyers' playful roast, the 'SNL' star hinted that the online speculations might have some truth to them.
Right after the clip was played, Jost asked Meyers, "Are you implying that someone gave me some sort of gummy mushroom right before I went to the red carpet? Is that what you're implying?"
Meyers replied cheekily, "You froze like a deer in oncoming traffic, to the degree that your wife had to lean over in front of a camera crew and be like, 'Are you okay?'"
Subsequently, Jost noted, "Are you implying that when a thousand flash bulbs went off in front of my face that I thought I was staring into the dawn of the cosmos?"
He continued, "And I saw [and] fully realized my entire past and future in one moment until my wife had to rip me out of the space-time continuum and say, 'Are you okay?' I don’t know what you’re implying."

Adding to the fun, Meyers asked Jost, "Your mom had a birthday or has one coming up?"
The 'SNL' star immediately shared his excitement for his "mom's upcoming birthday on Sunday" (December 10), with Meyers revealing he is a "big fan" of, Dr Kerry Kelly.
Jost humorously shared that his mother, who worked in the fire department is "turning 21, which is pretty exciting," a playful age he and his brother were told every birthday when they asked about her age while growing up.
The comedian revealed that he genuinely believed his mom was turning 21 every year until he was around 12. When a friend questioned him about her age, Jost confidently stated she was turning 21, leading to confusion and concern.
He mentioned that the misunderstanding continued until Jost's friend informed their parents, prompting his mother to clarify her actual age, which was 45 at the time.
