'Counting On' star Jason Duggar faces lawsuit in Arkansas for posing as a 'licensed contractor'
BENTON COUNTY, ARKANSAS: Jason Duggar of 'Counting On' has landed himself in a hot mess as he has been named in a lawsuit, filed by a man named Mark Thompson in Benton County, Arkansas.
On September 10, Thompson filed a lawsuit against the 24-year-old, who works as a property contractor, and Madison Holding LLC, accusing them of fraud, negligence, and breach of contract and breach of warranties, as per Parade.

Arkansas Contractors Licensing Board apparently has no record of Jason Duggar's license
According to the lawsuit obtained by In Touch, Mark Thompson alleges that he signed the papers to buy a house in Bella Vista, Arkansas, with Jason Duggar as the contractor.
As per the contract, he was to receive a restored house with 22 repair works completed within 30 days. However, even though 11 months have already passed, most of the repair works are yet to be completed.
Thompson claims that the TLC star not only left most of the repair work incomplete in the master bedroom and bathroom but he also allegedly did not fix roofing issues among other major things.
The complainant stated that Duggar contacted him about the roofing issues in April or May, but did not do anything much. In May, he supposedly wanted Thompson to pay someone else to complete the repairs.

Thompson mentions that "rather than continuing with the needed repairs, [Duggar] suggested that he simply pay for them to be done by someone else." Following that communication, Duggar and his company have "gone silent on addressing these issues."
Thompson further claims that Duggar isn’t actually a licensed contractor, adding that no record of his license on the Arkansas Contractors Licensing Board has been found.
The suit states, "The contractor made false representations of material fact to Plaintiff by representing he was a licensed contractor and by representing he was making several of the repairs (e.g., to the roof), or had made repairs to the home in compliance with the addendum and warranty," as per Cafemom.
Thompson is seeking monetary damages, including the cost of the repairs as well as the expenses for hiring an attorney.
The court has sent a summon to Duggar, notifying that he "must file with the clerk of this court a written answer to the complaint or a motion under Rule 12 of the Arkansas Rules of Civil Procedure."
Jason Duggar seems to be doing well on the personal front
While the '19 Kids and Counting' star is facing a difficult time in his professional life, his personal life appears to be stable.
The embattled contractor, who is no stranger to the house flipping business thanks to his family, recently got engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Maddie Grace.
