ALTADENA, CALIFORNIA: A gut-wrenching wildfire sweeping through Los Angeles has claimed the life of a beloved Hollywood actress.

Dalyce Curry, 95, known for her work in ‘The Blues Brothers’, was found dead in her Altadena home, which was destroyed by the raging flames. The Southern California resident was discovered by coroners on the evening of Sunday, January 12, just before 6 pm, as reported by ABC.

She was also known for her roles in films such as 'The Ten Commandments' and 'Lady Sings the Blues'.

Dalyce Curry’s granddaughter finds burned-down Altadena home

Before Dalyce Curry's tragic death, her granddaughter, Dalyce Kelley, dropped her off at her grandmother's house on the evening of Tuesday, January 7, just as the LA wildfire began to spread. Unaware of how rapidly the fires would grow, Kelley later learned of the devastation around the city.

Concerned for her grandmother's safety, Kelley attempted to reach her but was stopped at a barricade. Police confirmed that Curry’s home had "totally burned down." Kelley was then advised to check the Pasadena Civic Center, a shelter for displaced residents, but she could not find her grandmother there.

On Friday, January 10, a National Guard member escorted Kelley to the site of the house, where she witnessed "total devastation." She recalled, "Everything was gone except her blue Cadillac."

Although Dalyce Kelley continued to hope for a miracle, the death was not confirmed until Sunday evening. "Honestly we don't feel very hopeful that she's still here with us," she said.

Curry's death was later confirmed by her granddaughters, Dalyce Kelley and Loree Beamer-Wilkinson, who took to their Facebook account to share the heartbreaking news.

On Sunday, January 12, Kelley wrote, "Thank you to ABC 7 for featuring our beloved grandmother #dalycecurry who has been missing from the #eatonfire in #altadena - about an hour ago the coroner confirmed her remains were indeed found at the property. #RIPMOMMADEE 🕊️ We had a great run. She impacted my life in so many ways. This loss is devastating."

Kelley later shared a nostalgic photo of Curry on her Instagram, captioning the post, "#DalyceCurry what a loss y’all 💔🕊️"
