LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Dave Coulier updated his fans and spoke about his health amid his cancer battle in a social media post. The ‘Full House’ alum shared what led to his severe weight loss and change in appearance.

Dave Coulier reveals HPV-related tongue cancer diagnosis
Coulier had revealed his stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma diagnosis in late 2024. But a few months later, he announced that he was cancer-free.
In December 2025, however, the 66-year-old actor shared that he had been diagnosed with HPV-related oropharyngeal tongue cancer, which can cause “a long-lasting sore throat, earaches, hoarseness, swollen lymph nodes, pain when swallowing, and unexplained weight loss,” according to the Centers for Disease Control.
Dave Coulier says he lost 45 pounds
Now, in the recent update, Coulier told his fans, “What you're seeing is the side effects of extensive radiation that I went through for carcinoma in my throat. I haven't been able to eat solid food in months. So I've lost 45 pounds, that's what you're seeing.”
“Some of you said that I sound different. So yeah, you’re right on with what you’re seeing and what you’re hearing,” he explained further.
Dave Coulier is keeping himself busy 'creating artwork'
The ‘The Family Holiday’ actor, however, shared some positive news as well. He revealed that his “hair is kind of growing back,” before adding, “We got our PET scans back, and the prognosis looks good for both the carcinoma in my throat and the lymphoma.”
Coulier also said in his video message to his millions of followers that he’s “been creating artwork, and I've been doing some creative writing. And I've been working on AwearMarket.com, our non-toxic store, and so be on the lookout in the next couple of weeks, we'll be having some really nice, creative content.”
“We're looking out for your health and so I wish good health to all of you,” he concluded.
Dave Coulier discovered tongue cancer during PET scan
This came after Coulier sat down with Today in December last year to discuss his latest cancer diagnosis.
He had said, “To go through chemotherapy and feel that relief of whoah, it’s gone, and then to get a test that says, well now you’ve got another kind of cancer ... it is a shock to the system.”
The actor then disclosed how doctors discovered his HPV-related oropharyngeal tongue cancer.
“A couple of months ago, I had a PET scan, and something flared on the scan. The doctor said, 'We don't know what it is, but there's something at the base of your tongue,’” Coulier stated, before sharing that after a few rounds of biopsies, it was confirmed that cancerous cells were present.
