David Dobrik flaunts six-pack abs in stunning before-and-after fitness transformation video after hiatus
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: A content creator proved that his health was a serious matter after he shared his "insane" body transformation after taking a two-year break from YouTube.
David Dobrik, a content creator with 17 million subscribers, made his return to the platform on Tuesday, January 7, unveiling his new look to followers in a 14-minute and 20-second video documenting his fitness journey.
David Dobrik reveals incredible body transformation
In the before picture, David Dobrik appeared less lean while wearing black shorts. But in the latest photo, he confidently showed off his sculpted six-pack abs and massive muscles while wearing only jeans.
"I couldn’t be more grateful for the people around me that pushed me this year to be a better version of myself. I owe everything to all my friends and especially Ilya who has literally changed my life. I love ya dude. I don’t feel like pudding anymore !!!!" Dobrik captioned the post.

In 2024, Dobrik quietly dedicated himself to shedding excess fat with the help of trainer and Xeela Fitness CEO Ilya Fedorovich. “This is crazy that I look like this. I don’t know what happened,” Dobrik said in a documentary posted on Xeela Fitness’ YouTube page on Tuesday. “I’ve never ever taken my health seriously.”
When Dobrik began working with Fedorovich, his body fat percentage was 27.8, and he made a bet with Fedorovich that they would take a trip if he managed to improve his physique, the New York Post reported.
Throughout the year, Fedorovich encouraged Dobrik to engage in various physical activities, including running laps, playing tennis, boxing, weightlifting, and wrestling as they traveled to locations such as Italy, Peru, and Slovakia to work out. However, there were also challenging moments.
Several clips depicted Dobrik and Fedorovich arguing over his poor food choices and alcohol intake, which led to a two-month period of no progress.
David Dobrik addresses controversies after hiatus
Along with showcasing his physical transformation, Dobrik also uploaded his first vlog since 2022, where he explained how he managed to lose weight. His extended break from social media was partially due to several allegations, including claims of misconduct and bullying by former friends and colleagues, OK! Magazine reported.
Dobrik also faced significant criticism following a dangerous accident involving his friend Jeff Wittek, who nearly lost his life during a wakeboarding stunt. The accident resulted in Wittek undergoing multiple surgeries to repair fractures in his face and skull.
Now, Dobrik appears to be focusing on his personal development, with his fitness journey serving as a clear testament to that. Fans have quickly congratulated him on his transformation and are eager to see what the YouTube star will achieve in 2025.
David Dobrik's dramatic transformation sparks Photoshop rumors
The transformation was so dramatic that many of David Dobrik's Instagram followers had a hard time believing it was real. Some even speculated that the photo had been photoshopped.
“I can’t tell if this is real life or not” one follower commented, while another reassured fans, saying, “To everyone who didn't watch the vlog it's 100% real 😂.”

Despite the evidence, many were still skeptical, with one comment reading, “His head doesn’t look like it belongs on his body😭😭😭.”
“This literally looks like a deep fake,” read another.
One person wrote, "Dude had to prove it wasn’t fake 😭"
This post was particularly surprising because it marked Dobrik's first Instagram update since April 2024. His last post was a "Coachella house tour," where he gave fans a look at the house he and his friends were staying in during the popular music festival.
