FORT LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA: A Florida woman has been missing for more than a month. Now her estranged husband is said to have refused to undergo a polygraph exam and to assist in the search for her.

Ana Knezevich, 40, was last seen on February 2, 2024, at approximately 10 pm while she was visiting Madrid, Spain.

Ana Knezevich's husband refused FBI polygraph test

Ana Knezevich's disappearance occurred on the same night that security camera vandalism by an unidentified person was uncovered outside her apartment.

The man, who was donning a helmet, is said to have destroyed out the security cameras outside Ana's apartment building and inside the elevator.

After that, the same individual entered Ana's apartment. No evidence of a robbery was discovered within the apartment by the police.

According to The Olive Press, Ana's husband David Knezevich has turned down an FBI request to submit to a polygraph examination.

In an interview with NewsNation's CUOMO, David's attorney, Ken Padowitz, stated that his client was in Serbia at the time of Ana's disappearance and has been assisting the police.

“He’s spoken to the police a number of times,” Padowitz said, before adding, “I have reached out to the FBI and let them know that we are available to aid in any way. He’s given police information on credit cards, attempted to hire a lawyer in Spain.”

A few days into her visit, Ana's friend Sanna Rameau told 7News Miami that she was supposed to go to Barcelona with a friend but never showed up.

She also claimed to have received an odd message on Ana's phone, in which she said she had met a new person and they were traveling two hours distant to a summer house.

“We received very bizarre messages from her phone, I have to say from her phone because I don’t believe it was her sending it, that Saturday afternoon (February 3) after she disappeared. That she had met a man on the street,” Rameau explained.

Ramaeu went on to say, “When we tried to respond, the messages were not going through and the phone is off. She has not left on her own. She has been taken against her will and by who, I don’t know.”

Ana Knezevich reportedly locked her apartment in Fort Lauderdale

According to WTVJ, relatives of Ana requested a welfare check when they called the police on February 4. However, Ana was not at home and had not gotten in touch with anybody.

“They didn’t find her. Looks like she left the apartment locking it from the outside. That’s the last we know,” Ramaue said.

Ramaeu further added that Ana has been going through a difficult period in her personal life. She was in the middle of divorce procedures. To unwind, she went on a vacation in Madrid.

She added that when Ana disappeared, David was not in Serbia as he had claimed, but rather at this house in Fort Lauderdale. Authorities in Spain and the FBI are still looking into the matter.
