WASHINGTON, DC: A massive digital controversy has erupted following a post by Democratic influencer Brian Krassenstein that many are interpreting as a direct incitement of violence against President Donald Trump

The controversy began on Wednesday, December 24, when a screenshot of a post from Krassenstein’s account began circulating rapidly across the internet.

The message, which was posted at 3:17 AM on December 24, 2025, by Krassenstein stated that “Trump is a dead man walking,” and that “America should put him to sleep, NOW. It is the humanitarian thing to do.”

The post quickly garnered over 100,000 views before becoming the center of a national debate.

Users on social media tag Elon Musk, citing violations of safety policy

Critics have been quick to condemn the influencer, arguing that his words are a hidden way of calling for an assassination.

The phrase "put to sleep" is traditionally associated with euthanasia, leading a vast number of users to interpret the statement as a literal demand for the termination of the president’s life.

In response, several users on the X tagged platform owner Elon Musk and various federal law enforcement agencies, contending that such language is a clear violation of safety policies regarding the promotion of violence against protected political figures.

While Krassenstein has long been a vocal digital adversary to the MAGA movement, this specific incident has alienated even moderate followers who believe his rhetoric has transcended political criticism and entered the territory of criminal incitement.

Responses to Brian Krassenstein's post

Far right influencer, Eric Daugherty, took to his X, posted a screenshot of Krassenstein's post and captioned it as, "High-level Democrat Party influencer Brian Krassenstein is being accused of urging the assassination of President Trump, and is facing calls to be banned from X and investigated by the Secret Service."

One user wrote, "Leftist Brian Krassenstein once again shamefully calls for the assassination of President Trump. Krassenstein also defames Trump by calling him a r****t. Krassenstein has previously been visited by US Secret Service for his threats against Trump. It’s time to prosecute Brian."

Another wrote, "Suspend Brian Krassenstein. Like this post if you agree."

A person remarked, "Brian Krassenstein was up at 3AM on Christmas Eve fantasizing about murdering the President of the United States."

"BREAKING: Brian Krassenstein calls for someone to assassinate President Trump," another tweet read.

Another user commented, "Liberal Pinhead, Brian Krassenstein practically called for an assassination attempt on President Trump, calling it the "humanitarian thing to do" and now everyone wants him banned from X and the FBI to investigate. What do you guys think should happen?"
