WASHINGTON, DC: Hunter Biden, on Thursday, July 2, attempted to mock President Donald Trump with a sarcastic Nobel Peace Prize post on social media, but the stunt quickly backfired.

Within minutes, critics flooded the comments with biting replies targeting Hunter's past struggles, his father's presidency and the Biden administration's foreign policy record.

Even after Hunter tried to laugh off one of the jokes, the backlash only intensified as conservatives seized on the exchange.

Hunter Biden's sarcastic swipe at Trump

Hunter Biden took aim at President Trump after renewed discussion surrounding Trump's peace efforts overseas.

In a post on X, Hunter sarcastically claimed he was nominating Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, joking that the president had supposedly "ended" the conflict with Iran countless times.

"I am officially nominating Donald J Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize," Hunter wrote.

He continued by mocking media coverage, adding: "No President in History has ended the same war so many times. Our Dear Leader has ended the war with Iran at least 38 times by CNN's count."

Hunter concluded the post by saying: "It's a record worthy of the Nobel committee's recognition. Thank you for your attention to this matter!"

Internet fires back at Hunter Biden

Rather than joining the joke, many users turned the satire directly against Hunter himself.

One widely shared reply mocked Hunter's long-publicized battles with addiction by parodying his own post: "I am officially nominating Hunter Biden for Sobriety of the Year."

The commenter continued: "No man in history has announced he's sober this many times... It’s a record worthy of recognition."

Hunter unexpectedly responded instead of ignoring the jab. "Make it 39 times! I am most definitely sober. Nobel here I come."

That exchange rapidly gained traction across social media.

Other users shifted the focus from Hunter personally to former President Joe Biden's record in office.

One commenter referenced the chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan: "Remember when your father told the country that Afghanistan will not be taken over by violent groups and then two weeks later it happened?"

Another user argued that the former president's recent public appearances had become increasingly difficult to watch.

"Your dad was the worst president in American history and they left him on stage last week to embarrass himself," they wrote.

A separate response blamed the Biden administration for global instability during its four years in office. "Your dad's weakness resulted in two deadly wars... Congrats," the commentator wrote.

Many additional replies echoed similar criticism, accusing the administration under Hunter's father of projecting weakness abroad while arguing Trump's policies produced greater international deterrence.
