WASHINGTON, DC: New footage from January 6, 2021, when Donald Trump's supporters attacked the Capitol, showed Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer admonishing Trump administration officials over the then-president's inaction to order the National Guard to disperse the mob, according to The Hill.

In the video aired by MSNBC on Monday, June 10, the top Democrat could be seen shouting at then-Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy regarding the deployment of the National Guard.

"DC has requested the National Guard, and it's been denied by DOD. I'd like to know a good f**king reason why it's been denied," Schumer fumed. "We need them fast. We've all had to, I've never seen anything like this. We're like a third-world country here. We had to run and evacuate the Capitol."

The then House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was seen sitting next to the Senator.

Former President Trump had often claimed that he had ordered the deployment of the National Guard, but Pelosi blocked it. However, his cabinet members later undermined the accusation against the then-speaker under oath.

Further into the footage, Schumer said he would push for the National Guard at the Capitol to then-acting Secretary of Defense Chris Miller.

"All right. I spoke to the secretary of the Army, and he's given the full OK to give the National Guard. He said it was not done," the Senate leader said. "I'm going to call up the secretary of Defense."

In another clip, Schumer urged acting Attorney General Jeff Rosen to tell Trump to ask the attackers to return home.

"Why don't you get the president to tell them to leave the Capitol? Mr Attorney General, in your law enforcement responsibility. A public statement, they should all leave," the majority leader said, adding, "He is saying his tweet said we are for peace, law and order and order. Yeah. Why don't you get him to make that statement? Would you do that?"

However, the House Republicans released another footage on Monday where Pelosi blamed herself for not deploying the National Guard at the Capitol on January 6, 2021.

The former House Speaker could be heard slamming the lack of "accountability" and taking "responsibility" for not ensuring adequate security on the day ahead of Trump's 'Stop The Steal' rally that inspired protesters to unleash violence at the Capitol.

The video clip was part of an HBO documentary by Pelosi's daughter, Alexandra Pelosi.

Trump faces a federal indictment in Washington, DC, over actions surrounding the Capitol insurrection.

The criminal probe led by special counsel Jack Smith has charged the former president with conspiracy to defraud the country, allegedly instigating the rioters to stop the certification of Joe Biden's 2020 election victory and obstructing the Congressional procedure.

Internet blasts Dems of trying to do 'damage control' with Chuck Schumer's new Jan 6 video

Netizens directed their anger towards the Democratic Party over Schumer's new Jan 6 video demanding Trump to deploy the National Guard at the Capitol. The online backlash was due to another footage where Pelosi took the blame on herself.

One user wrote, "Desperation is setting in. They have nothing but J6 and abortion. Both narratives they have manufactured."

Another echoed the same criticism, writing, "Dems are so desperate they're playing the Jan.6 card again."

"This obvious damage control over the release of Pelosi's admission today shows how panicked the Dems are that the J6 Narrative is unraveling," claimed a third user.

A fourth response read, "Democrats think Americans are dumb."

Someone else argued, "Turns out Nanci was in charge of that (as its appropriate for her position) and SHE didn't send them, then she very smartly told us that on camera. You and trump were nothing in that, this was Nanci's party!"

"Too late. Nancy already admitted SHE WAS TO BLAME," an individual chimed in.
