LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Actress Denise Richards is mourning the loss of her longtime friend and former partner Patrick Muldoon, following his sudden death. His passing was confirmed by his manager, with reports stating he suffered a heart attack.
He was reportedly found unconscious at his home on Sunday, April 19, and was pronounced dead after emergency responders arrived. The actress shared an emotional tribute, reflecting on their decades-long bond and deep personal connection.

Richards paid tribute to Muldoon in a heartfelt social media post, describing him as her “best friend” and “family.” She expressed that putting her grief into words was difficult, stating she was “deeply heartbroken and devastated” by his loss.
She further stated, "You were my best friend and my family. We met in our first acting class, I was 19 never had an acting job and you were 21 a student at USC doing a recurring role on who’s the boss. And here we are. 36 years later."
Richards continued, "My whole adult life & I don’t know it without you. The friendship, love, support, respect & loyalty we had was unconditional and rare. You lit up every room you walked into. You are larger than life & Everyone was drawn to you."
Richards reflected in her tribute, “So talented & most underrated actor. And most humble. Everything you did was infectious—your laugh, your kindness, your wit, your strength, your loyalty, your passion, and your zest for life. We’ve been each other’s rock.”
She also shared in her message, “Our memories together are endless. You’ve had my back and protected me more than anyone. I don’t know what I’m going to do without you here. You’re my voice of reason & pillar of strength, especially during this last year of pain & heartache.”
Richards concluded, “And now I need you more than ever, for this pain and heartache losing you. Schweetbabe, we’ve had those conversations… We thought we’d live forever, or at least into our 90s. Schweetbabe, I will be looking for those signs. I need to know you’re still here with me. I love you so much & miss you dearly, schweetbabe.”

Richards’ daughter, Lola Sheen, also paid tribute to Muldoon on Tuesday, April 21. Lola, whom Richards shares with ex-husband Charlie Sheen, posted an image of Muldoon with her mother on Instagram, accompanied by an emotional message.
She wrote, “I thought you were the one that was supposed be in our lives forever, When i think of my childhood i think of you pat, and it’s gonna be so weird to go on without you in our lives. you were such a huge part of our family and life will never feel the same, but that’s just because of how much you impacted us.”
Lola concluded her post by adding, “I always begged my mom I’m sure she told you that you guys would end up back together haha, but i guess staying best friends was better anyways.”
Muldoon was widely recognized for his roles in the daytime drama 'Days of Our Lives,' the primetime soap 'Melrose Place,' and the film 'Starship Troopers.' He began his acting career while still in college with a two-episode arc on the sitcom 'Who’s the Boss?'
Actress Alison Sweeney, who starred alongside Muldoon on 'Days of Our Lives,' also paid tribute on X, writing, “This is such heartbreaking news. Pat was a rare kind of person - brilliantly talented, endlessly kind and generous in spirit.”
She added, “I was so lucky to have worked with him when I first started at Days, he made me feel at ease right away. He brought his unique charm and humor to work every day. A truly gifted guy, and one who will be profoundly missed.”
