CONCORD, NEW HAMPSHIRE: Congresswoman Elise Stefanik sided with former President Donald Trump and called writer E Jean Carroll a liar, as reported by liberal news network Meidas Touch.

The Republican frontrunner has already been found guilty by New York Court Judge Lewis Kaplan in the defamation suit filed by Carroll.

When asked by media during a Trump event in Concord, New Hampshire, on Friday, January 19, if she believed the writer, Stefanik outrightly responded, "No, of course not."

The ex-Elle magazine columnist sued the former President for defaming her in 2019 after he denied her sexual abuse allegations.

The ongoing trial also made headlines for its dramatic moments, with the judge threatening to kick Trump out of the courtroom on day 2 for undisciplined behavior.

Elise Stefanik blames media bias

After accusing Carroll of lying, the New York lawmaker blamed the media for being biased.

When a reporter said that a jury found the plaintiff's claims of Trump sexually abusing her true, Stefanik responded, "The media is so biased. This is just another example of the media being out of touch."

Carroll was awarded $ 5 million for her defamation claim in May 2023.

Attacking the judge overseeing the case on Truth Social and also in his campaign speeches, Trump has claimed that the trial was rigged.

The former President has infamously used the case as a political weapon to boost up his presidential campaign when the judge denied his request to postpone the trial so he could attend his mother-in-law's funeral. Nevertheless, he skipped the court on January 18 for the funeral in Florida.

Internet reacts to Elise Stefanik's claims

Outraged at Stefanik's false accusations, netizens slammed her for stepping on the backs of other women to attain power.

One user opined, "Elise Stefanik is despicable. And only strives to become more so."

Another user wrote, "Can E.Jean sue her too? She is a horrible person."

"Elise Stefanik has chosen to go down with trump," a user added. One response read, "Elise Stefanik shows herself to be an absolutely loathsome creature."

A user remarked, "Elise Stefanik has no problem stepping on the backs of other women if it means she gains more power. If anyone is a liar it’s Elise."

"Oh Elise.. The gaslighting from Republicans has really gone downhill in the past few years. 3rd grade level at best. Sad stuff," another user added.

Another reaction read, "Stefanik doesn't seem to like other women. Isn't she a woman?"
