The now-infamous incident, which took place during Coldplay’s sold-out show at Gillette Stadium, captured Byron and Cabot sharing what appeared to be an intimate moment, only to be startled by the kiss cam spotlight.

Both married, Byron to Kerrigan and Cabot to her husband Andrew Cabot, the pair’s interaction sparked immediate outrage, speculation, and professional fallout, including Byron’s resignation.

But according to a now-viral theory, the moment may not have been accidental. 

“How did Coldplay manage to expose a cheating couple out of 60,000 people? No one realized that this wasn’t an accident,” claims a widely shared video, which alleges that Megan Kerrigan may have orchestrated the public exposure, having already known about the affair.

The video further speculates that the shocking moment may have been a “planned revenge scene” designed to publicly humiliate Byron and strengthen Kerrigan’s legal standing in the event of a divorce.

“There is a rumor going around that it wasn’t random at all. It might have been a set-up. A public takedown, and the biggest winner? Andy’s wife, Megan Kerrigan. She’s got enough proof of the affair to possibly walk away with over 50 percent of the company and a huge chunk of their assets. A concert turning into a revenge scene. Pure chance or something way more planned,” the video claims.

However, the theory has sparked backlash and skepticism online.

One user dismissed the idea, writing, “There’s no way the wife could have planned this.”

Another fired back, “Yeah sure… now the wife is the bad person here.”

A third user commented simply, “I don’t think so,” while another wrote, “Pure chance.”

Megan Kerrigan reportedly leaves family home amid divorce speculation

The theory gained further traction after fresh reports revealed that Megan Kerrigan has moved out of the couple’s $1.4 million home in Northborough, Massachusetts.

According to the Daily Mail, she is currently staying at a luxury property in Kennebunk, Maine, and has been “trying to keep a low profile.” Family sources say her sister Maura and other close relatives have rallied around her in the wake of the media storm.

As of now, Kerrigan has not issued an official statement about the scandal. However, she reportedly removed “Byron” from her Facebook profile before eventually deleting the account altogether. 

Megan Kerrigan could walk away with millions

Legal insiders told the New York Post that Megan Kerrigan could be entitled to a sizable financial settlement if she files for divorce.

Andy Byron’s estimated net worth is between $20 million and $70 million, and under Massachusetts’ 50/50 marital property law, Kerrigan may be awarded up to half of that.

Under Bay State law, couples married for over seven years are required to divide any assets accumulated during the marriage, explained Nancy Chemtob, a matrimonial and family attorney and partner at Chemtob Moss Forman & Beyda.

“It’s obviously a long-term relationship,” Chemtob said of Byron and Kerrigan, noting that Kerrigan immediately reverted to her maiden name on social media after news of her husband’s kiss-cam moment with his company’s top HR executive went viral.
