PEOPLE previously reported that Diddy had been placed in solitary confinement following an NBC News report alleging that he had been seen with contraband items, including a cellphone, while incarcerated. The report raised questions about his conditions behind bars, including allegations that he had access to items and privileges not ordinarily permitted in prison.

The 56-year-old disgraced rapper is currently serving a 50-month federal prison sentence after being convicted on two counts of federal charges last year. He is currently incarcerated at FCI Fort Dix, a low-security prison approximately 40 miles outside Philadelphia, after previously being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn before his sentencing.

Sean 'Diddy' Combs’ prison release date pushed back after contraband report

Diddy's scheduled prison release date has been pushed back following reports alleging that he had spent thousands of dollars to secure a more comfortable lifestyle behind bars. According to Bureau of Prisons records, his current release date is March 2, 2028, replacing the previously listed date of January 21, 2028.

The Bureau of Prisons declined to comment on the circumstances surrounding the change. “For privacy, safety, and security reasons, we do not comment on the conditions of confinement for any incarcerated individual, including reasons for a change in release date,” the agency told PEOPLE on Wednesday.

According to NBC News, Diddy had access to a “jailbroken” tablet, which he allegedly used to watch movies and documentaries, including Netflix’s 'Sean Combs: The Reckoning'. A source also told PEOPLE that he was seen using a cellphone to browse Instagram and view photos sent by a former girlfriend.

The NBC report further alleged that the music mogul received specially prepared meals and massages while incarcerated. The report also claimed that he had been seen drinking liquor behind bars.
