Distraught Mandy Moore seeks refuge with pal Hilary Duff after losing family home in LA wildfires
BEVERLY HILLS, CALIFORNIA: Mandy Moore and her family have taken refuge with singer-actress Hilary Duff after escaping the roaring wildfire that has destroyed their Altadena neighborhood in Los Angeles.
Moore's brother-in-law, Dawes drummer Griffin Goldsmith, shared the thoughtful gesture in an emotional Instagram post, released on Tuesday, January 14, describing the toll the tragic fires have taken on his family.
Griffin further thanked Duff and her family for creating a GoFundMe page for him and his wife after they lost their house amid the impending birth of their child, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Hilary Duff has 'full house' after taking in Mandy Moore and her family
The 'This Is Us' actress, 40, her husband, 39-year-old Taylor Goldsmith, and their three young children now reside with former Disney star Hilary Duff's family in her Beverly Hills residence.
With their three children and Duff's 12-year-old son Luca, she and her husband Matthew Koma usually have a busy house, but now they are hosting four adults and seven youngsters.
"It's a full house," a source said, referring to the Duff household's current seven children under the age of 12, reported The Express.
This includes Duff's children from her past marriage, Banks, 6, Mae, 3, and Townes, 20 months, as well as Luca, 12, and Moore's children, Gus, 3, Oscar, 2, and Lou, 3 months old.
Sharing the generous act by Duff on Instagram, Taylor's brother Griffin wrote, "All of this so overwhelming. But what is as equally overwhelming is the amount of love and generosity we are on the receiving end of."
"Our dear friends @matthewkoma and @hilaryduff thought it wise to set up a gofundme for us to help with everything moving forward," he continued.
"Not to mention they are currently housing my brother's family. They've taken care of my entire family from the moment this began," he added.
Griffin said, "I will never be able to thank them adequately. This is the kindest act any human could do for another. They are the most beautiful, selfless people we've ever known."
According to Griffin's post, he persuaded his entire family and closest friends to relocate to the Altadena neighborhood years ago, including the parents of the siblings, who lived nearby, per Billboard.
However, their homes were destroyed in the fires that have claimed 16 lives in the area as the enormous Eaton Fire has burned over 14,000 acres so far.
Mandy Moore shared her house burnt but 'main part' of building remains intact
The 'Walk to Remember' actress revealed that her home burned down on January 9 and that while the "main part" of the building was still intact, it was "not livable."
Moore also said at the time that her brother-in-law Griffin, who plays with her husband Taylor in the rock group Dawes, and his wife Kit, also lost their house.
Koma posted a new GoFundMe on Instagram for Griffin and his spouse. "My dearest friends Griff & Kit Goldsmith lost absolutely everything yesterday in the fires in Altadena," he said.
"They’re expecting their first child in a few weeks and without a home or the most basic necessities, the days ahead feel unimaginable," Koma wrote, per Daily Mail.

Griffin and his wife received up to $205,000 since they launched the GoFundMe campaign. "I’ve never been so moved in my life. We are completely blown away. I can’t talk or think about it without crying," Griffin wrote in his post, thanking all the donors who helped collect money for his family.
Moore immediately faced criticism after posting the GoFundMe page on her Instagram page. Critics claimed the actress-singer, who has an estimated net worth of $14 million, should support her in-laws by giving her own money rather than requesting assistance.
"People questioning whether we’re helping out our own family or attributing some arbitrary amount of money Google says someone has is NOT helpful or empathetic," Moore said in response to the criticism.
"Of course we are. Our buddy Matt started this GoFundMe and I’m sharing because people have asked how they can help them. We just lost most of our life in a fire too. Kindly F OFF. No one is forcing you to do anything," she added.
