Dmitry Tsvetkov's desire for Tom Cruise to portray him in film destroyed upon actor's ties with ex-wife

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: A Russian oligarch who escaped two attempted assassinations in the UK has disclosed that he was hoping Tom Cruise would play him in a film, but he was disappointed to learn that the Hollywood actor was seeing his ex-wife.

After a contentious divorce that required to be taken to the High Court earlier this year, as reported by DailyMail.

Who is Dmitry Tsvetkov? 

Dmitry Tsvetkov parted ways with his wife of ten years, Elsina Khayrova, who is the daughter of a well-known Russian MP and Putin's ally. Dmitry is an international deal mediator and diamond trader.

Elsina and Dmitry acquired several assets during their marriage, including a $27 million mansion on Surrey's Wentworth estate, five flats in London valued at roughly $22 million, and properties worth $2.5 million in Dubai and Cyprus.

The mother-of-two was dealt a blow when a judge allegedly found her to be "guilty of sustained duplicity," which included lying about having a suitcase worth about £1 million. However, she has since recovered.

How did Tom and Elsina meet?

According to The Daily Mail, Tom and Elsina sparked romance rumors in December 2023 after they were seen together at a party in London's Mayfair, seemingly going on a date.

A source claimed that the two were "inseparable, clearly a couple. "He seemed to be besotted with her". 

It is unclear how Tom and Elsina met and how long they have been dating, even though they were at ease with one another during the outing.

After discussing Cruise, 61, starring him in a biopic about his life, Tsvetkov said he only learned about the relationship when the story became viral online. He found the conversations surrounding the romance very strange.

The Russian entrepreneur said, "After the judgment in August, a friend of mine who is a producer in Hollywood said why don't we do a movie?" 

"It would be about the three assassination attempts, about the divorce. And I said, fine but only if Tom Cruise can be the actor."

"When I was at school in Russia the guy was so popular. I have enjoyed his movies and he is a great actor. I would make the movie like Mission: Impossible because that is how it's happened to me."

Even though Cruise was about two decades his senior, he said, they were of comparable height and weight.

Following his 15-year divorce from his third wife, Katie Holmes, Cruise has not been connected to anyone in the public eye. The previous year, Khayrova filed for divorce from Tsvetkov, ending their ten-year union abruptly.

Who is Elsina Khayrova?

A former model turned socialite from Russia is Tom's latest love interest. In addition, she is the daughter of Rinat Khayrova, a well-known MP from Russia and a supporter of Vladimir Putin.

Elsina loves to travel and frequently shares pictures from her trips to places like Paris, Venice, San Tropez, Monte Carlo, Qatar, and California on her Instagram account, as per reports.

Elsina is a citizen of the United Kingdom and appears to reside in London.
