Don Jr’s former fiancee Kimberly Guilfoyle helped secure ex Gavin Newsom’s podcast with Charlie Kirk

WASHINGTON, DC: Conservative influencer Charlie Kirk revealed that he was “connected” with Gavin Newsom through the California Governor's ex-wife and MAGA firebrand Kimberly Guilfoyle.
While Guilfoyle was married to the California Democrat from 2001 to 2006, she also had a recent romantic connection to one of the most important people in the Republican circle - Donald Trump Jr, the eldest son of GOP spearhead Donald Trump.

Eyebrows were raised when the 57-year-old Newsom debuted his podcast ‘This Is Gavin Newsom’ with the conservative Kirk as his guest. Now, the 31-year-old political activist is reflecting on his connection with Newsom and how the former Fox host facilitated it.
Charlie Kirk reveals Kimberly Guilfoyle helped him in connecting with Gavin Newsom

Charlie Kirk, who is known for his combative exchanges with progressive students on college campuses, recently opened up about how the interview took place.
Speaking to KTTV’s Exel Michaelson, Kirk said, “I got a phone call from Governor Newsom two weeks ago, we connected through Kimberly Guilfoyle - obviously, they have a shared past…,” referencing the former couple’s past marriage.
He continued, "I talked to the Governor and he said 'Hey! I am doing this podcast, want to have you on. Would you like to come on?' I said ya. I'll talk to anyone, anytime."

He also said of Newsom, as reported by Daily Mail, “This is a guy who wants to be President more than any other human being alive.”
The California Governor, who is also speculated to be the Democratic Presidential nominee for 2028, met Guilfoyle at a Democratic fundraiser in the 1990s, as reported by The Daily Beast. The former couple tied the knot before splitting in 2005.
While the 56-year-old TV personality went on to marry businessman Eric Villency in 2006, Newsom tied the knot with actress Jennifer Siebel in 2008.

Nevertheless, Guilfoyle’s second marriage too came to an end when she divorced Villency in 2009.
In 2018, Guilfoyle was romantically involved with Trump Jr, when she was also involved in President Trump’s first re-election campaign.
Though the couple got engaged in 2020, the romance fizzled out by the end of last year. Soon, news of Trump Jr’s relationship with Palm Beach socialite Bettina Anderson came to the fore.
Guilfoyle - who left her job at Fox in 2018 - also witnessed a massive change in her career as well.
One of the most important women in the MAGA circle, the media personality was nominated by Donald Trump as his administration’s Ambassador to Greece.
During the debut episode of his podcast, Newsopm also deviated largely from most of his Democrat colleagues' viewpoints, when he said that he believes it is “deeply unfair” to let trans girls and women compete in female sports, as reported by The Daily Beast.
Kimberly Guilfoyle and Gavin Newsom issued rare statements about each other in the past
While Kimberly Guilfoyle and Gavin Newsom parted ways almost two decades ago, the duo maintained a sense of detached animosity, and have rarely made public statements about each other.
Nevertheless, in 2023, Newsom - who often gets called by Trump as ‘Newscum’ - described his ex-wife as ambitious and “whip-smart,” as reported by Daily Mail.
Adding that she “changed," the Democrat continued, “She was a different person. She was working for a progressive district attorney.”

He continued in his characterization of his ex, saying, “She fell prey, I think, to the culture at Fox in a deep way.’
“She would disagree with that assessment, she would perhaps suggest that she found the light,” concluded Newsom, who recently faced flak for his way of handling the Los Angeles fire crisis.
However, Guilfoyle did not take the criticism kindly, as she also fired back on the 'Charlie Kirk Show', noting that it was the former San Francisco mayor who changed.
Guilfoyle said, “I didn’t change, [Newsom] did,” before adding, “He used to be so proud to fight for small business, for entrepreneurs, for those hard-working men and women. And he’s fallen prey to the left, the radical left, that is pushing him so far to the left that it's unrecognizable."
