WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump has broken his silence over whether he thinks Jill Biden, wife of former president Joe Biden, should be subpoenaed regarding her husband's supposed cognitive decline during his time in office.

Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office during his press conference with Elon Musk on Friday, May 30, the 78-year-old said he disliked the idea of bringing her into the matter.

Donald Trump hates the 'concept' of subpoenaing Jill Biden over her husband Joe’s decline

The topic arose when Fox News' Peter Doocy asked if Jill Biden should have to testify about "concealing" her husband’s condition.

"Well, I hate the concept of it," Trump said, adding, "It’s the wife of a man who was going through a lot of problems and everyone who dealt with him understood that," as per the Irish Star

House Republicans, led by Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Kentucky), launched a probe earlier this month into Biden's cognitive state and use of an autopen.

Comer even said that he was "open" to bringing the former president in for a hearing, as per The New York Post

Donald Trump says June 2024 presidential debate was 'biggest signal' of Joe Biden's struggles

Donald Trump also mentioned that Joe Biden’s debate performance was a clear sign of his struggles.

“I guess it came out in the debate loud and clear that...that was the biggest signal of all,” he said.

The MAGA leader then referenced the 2020 election and claimed, “There was a lot of dishonesty in the election, as you know, of 2020, that’s now been caught. People understand that there was a rigged election."

Trump also turned his attention to what he called the “infamous autopen,” which he claimed was used to sign important documents without Biden's knowledge.

“When you go further out, when you see the autopen,” Trump added, calling it “one of the great scandals of all time.”

He continued, "Because you have somebody operating it, or a number of people operating it. Because I knew Joe Biden. Joe Biden wasn’t in favor of opening the borders and letting 21 million people in from prisons and mental institutions and gang members."

Trump insisted, “He wasn’t into that at all. Who’s signed these orders, proclamations, and all of the different things he signed that set our country so far back? That was so bad for our country.”

Donald Trump claims to know who operated Joe Biden's autopen

The autopen, which Donald Trump described as a device typically used to sign a high volume of letters, became a focal point of his remarks.

Trump suggested that Biden used it for major policies. “Autopens are not meant to sign major proclamations, tax cuts, or anything to do with the borders, which is so important," the president claimed.

“I understand he signed almost everything with an autopen. It is very dangerous. It really means you are not president,” he added.

Trump concluded by saying, “Whoever operated the autopen, we know who that is. It was actually more than one person.”

Internet reacts to Donald Trump's thoughts on subpoenaing Jill Biden amid probe into Joe's decline in office

Meanwhile, some internet users expressed anger over the reporter's question about subpoenaing Jill Biden, while others praised Donald Trump for opposing the idea.

One X user wrote, "She can’t be compelled to testify against him cause like, you know, she’s his wife and there are laws for that very reason," and another said, "This question and his answer are so very stupid."

A person bluntly wrote, "Stupidest question ever and Dooley is known for them. Also mean-spirited and spite-filled," while a supporter of the president said, "Trump is too kind-hearted, and people hate him. It's wild."

"If not her, get that other autopen gang in under oath. Someone will squeal," an individual demanded.
