ATLANTA, GEORGIA: Donald Trump was blasted online for just nodding in response to President Joe Biden assertively calling him out for being a "convicted felon" during the first presidential debate.

The two politicians had a verbal one-on-one on Thursday, June 27, that saw them throw dirt at each other.

Joe Biden thrashes Donald Trump during debate

During the debate, the 46th President said, as reported by Raw Story, “The only person on this stage that is a convicted felon is the man I'm looking at right now.”

Biden’s statement came when Trump was questioned about his alleged violation of “constitutional oath through your actions, inaction on January 6th, 2021,” and he replied, “Well, I didn’t say that to anybody. I said peacefully and patriotically," as reported by CNN.

The 78-year-old former leader also asserted, “The ‘unselect committee’ which is basically two horrible Republicans that are all gone now, out of office, and Democrats, all Democrats, they destroyed and deleted all of the information they found because they found out we were right.”

“We were right. And they deleted and destroyed all of the information. They should go to jail for that. If a Republican did that, they’d go to jail,” he added.

But Joe Biden soon rebuked him, noting, “Fact of the matter is what he's telling you is simply not true. Fact is there was no effort on his part to stop what was going on Capitol Hill.”

“Every one of those people that's convicted should serve and be convicted,” the 81-year-old stated.

Netizens label presidential debate ‘a debacle’

Throughout the discussion, it was reportedly observed that Donald Trump was only nodding as an X user tweeted, “Why is Trump allowed to lie like he is??? This is not a debate it’s a debacle.”

Another user commented, “BAM! Facts hurt!”

“Trump just nodding his head while Biden lists his history of sexual assault man what am I watching for real,” one shared.

A user posted, “Okay but Trump nodding like ‘yeah you got me in a convicted felon’ is f***** sending me looooool.”

“Biden: Stares in the distance looking confused. Trump: Nodding his head pretending to listen, and inadvertently nodding when being accused about negative stuff. Really America? These two 😂 smh,” another user stated.

Someone else added, “Biden saying ‘you molested a woman in public’ and Trump just there nodding…”
