BOISE, IDAHO: Former President Donald Trump has notched another victory by defeating opponent Nikki Haley in the Idaho Republican caucuses on Saturday, March 2, reported NBC News.

The GOP frontrunner has swept all 32 delegates of the Gem State as he continues his winning streak and closes in on the party nomination to likely face President Joe Biden for a rematch in November.

According to CNN, Trump secured a massive 84.9% votes, whereas his sole Republican opponent, Haley, stood at 13.2% votes.

The landslide victory came ahead of Super Tuesday on March 5, when more than a dozen states will head to polls to elect their presidential nominee.

Idaho Republicans organized the caucus for this election year after state legislators abandoned the March 12 presidential primary. Initially, the state lawmakers intended to simultaneously conduct the presidential primary with the primaries for state and local offices on May 21 but ultimately decided against it.

Donald Trump scores a GOP caucus trifecta

Trump's 2024 presidential campaign tasted a massive victory on March 2, giving a clear picture of the Super Tuesday's outcome. Besides the decisive victory in Idaho, the former President achieved what is known as a GOP caucus trifecta in a single day by winning in Michigan and Missouri, according to the New York Post.

At the Michigan Republican Party's caucus convention held at Grand Rapids, the ex-President collected all 39 delegates. Trump had already won the state's GOP primary, defeating Haley on February 27.

The leading presidential contender also beat the former UN ambassador in the Missouri caucus, scooping up 51 of the state's 54 convention delegates.

A candidate has to secure 1215 delegates to get the Republican nomination, and the ex-president has collected 247 so far with consecutive caucus and primary wins.

Celebrating his trifecta win, Trump took a swipe at his potential general election opponent, President Biden, while addressing his supporters at a 'Get Out the Vote' rally in Richmond, Virginia, on Friday.

"This is getting to be pretty wild and it's a great honor. We have to let them know we're coming for him. We're coming on November 5 Joe, crooked, sleepy, Joe," he said.

On the other hand, Haley has refused to reveal when she would drop out, stating she would continue the race through Super Tuesday "as long as we're competitive."
