NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Barbara Res, a former vice president of the Trump Organization, recently recounted an eyebrow-raising anecdote involving Donald Trump and a deeply offensive joke about "Nazi ovens."

Res, who served as lead engineer on the Trump Tower project and authored the memoir titled 'Tower of Lies', shared the story during an interview with MSNBC’s Ali Velshi.

Barbara Res recalls Donald Trump's offensive joke

During her interview, Barbara Res reflected on her 18-year tenure working for Donald Trump, noting his apparent tendency to make inappropriate and offensive remarks.

She said that Trump's recent comments about the fictional cannibal Hannibal Lecter reminded her of an earlier incident involving a Nazi joke directed at Jewish executives within the Trump Organization.

Res recounted, “It reminds me of a time when we had just hired a residential manager, a German guy. Donald [Trump] was bragging among us executives—there were four of us—about how great the guy was and how he was a real gentleman, and he was so neat and clean. And he looked at a couple of our executives who happened to be Jewish, and he said, ‘Watch out for this guy, he sort of remembers the ovens,’ you know, and then smiled.”

Res recalled her disbelief at Trump’s insensitivity, saying, “Everybody was shocked. I couldn’t believe he said that. But he was making a joke about the Nazi ovens and killing people, and that’s the way he was.”

When host Ali Velshi inquired about Trump’s affiliation with the Christian right, Res dismissed it as “absolute nonsense.”

She elaborated on Trump's disingenuous embrace of religion, recalling how he "used to hate Christmas because he had to go to church one day."

Res described Trump as possibly being agnostic or atheist, mocking religious people and viewing them as intellectually inferior for their beliefs. “He was an agnostic, maybe he was an atheist,” she continued. “He mocked religious people, he thought they were stupid for believing in things that were obviously, intellectually to him not true.”

Discussing the upcoming presidential debate between Trump and President Joe Biden, Res said she wanted to see Biden provoke Trump into displaying his erratic behavior. “I wish [Biden] would goad him and make him go nuts, because when he goes nuts, he’s really crazy,” she said.

In her memoir, Res detailed her observations of Trump’s alleged bigotry and bias, claiming, “Bigotry and bias control Donald’s view of the world," Rolling Stone reported.

In the months leading up to the 2020 election, Trump made several controversial statements regarding Jewish Americans and their political affiliations. He suggested that Jewish Americans who vote for Democrats hate both Israel and Judaism, positioning himself and the Republican Party as the protectors of Israel.

In March, he told his former deputy assistant Sebastian Gorka that “any Jewish person that votes for Democrats hates their religion” and “they hate everything about Israel.”

He added, “And they should be ashamed of themselves because Israel will be destroyed.”

These comments were swiftly condemned by the Biden campaign. James Singer, a spokesperson for the Biden campaign, responded, “Trump is going to lose again this November because Americans are sick of his hateful resentment, personal attacks, and extreme agenda."

Donald Trump slammed online as

Critics of Donald Trump took to social media to express their outrage over the alleged Nazi ovens comment by the former president.

"Because he’s an antisemite," one social media user alleged on X.

"Omigod, I can’t keep being disgusted by this man," another fumed.

"I wish this surprised me, but it does not. It horrifies me. His followers will say he is just joking, but the fact that they would think this is a joke is equally horrific," one comment read.

"None of this is shocking to me and it's believable. His supporters will only brush it off as nothing and just humor. It's not humor and there's nothing remotely funny about it, but that's literally where we are with these ignorant AF people," someone else agreed.

"Trump is an evil aberration, a missing link to a dark side. We must, as a country, see him for the terrible deviant that he is and get far away from him. We must not let his evil nature define us. We have come too far to fall back to the dark ages. Let’s vow to make him history," another person said.
