Trump offers CNN rare praise for calling out 'phony' Kamala Harris for using border wall in campaign ads

WASHINGTON, DC: Former president and GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump offered a rare praise to the CNN network on Sunday, September 8, for covering Democratic nominee and Vice President Kamala Harris' seemingly shifting stance on the border wall.

The CNN segment highlighted by Trump had anchor Erin Burnett discussing a K-File report on Harris using the concept of Trump's border wall in her campaign ads after repeatedly speaking out against it.



 

Donald Trump praises CNN for calling out Kamala Harris

Donald Trump shared a clip of Sky News covering the CNN report from Burnett and Andrew Kaczynski, reported Mediaite.

Burnett is seen saying in the video, "The K-File team scanned Kamala Harris' tweets and statements all the way back to 2017. And what they found was more than 50 instances of Harris slamming Trump's border wall."

She also quoted Harris' 2019 book, 'The Truths We Hold', where the latter wrote, "But there was a bigger reason to oppose the border wall. A useless wall on the southern border would be nothing more than a symbol, a monument standing in opposition to not just everything I value, but to the fundamental values upon which this country was built..."

However, the same wall is currently seen in many of Harris' campaign ads, which promote her experience as a prosecutor from the border state of California.



 

"Thank you to Erin Burnett and CNN. Even they say Comrade Kamala Harris is a Phony!" wrote Trump in his post.

Donald Trump trolled for praising CNN

Social media users took to the comments section of the Mediaite website and brutally trolled Donald Trump for praising a CNN report calling out Kamala Harris instead of labeling it as "fake news" like he usually did.

"No one is as phony as Don the Con," one social media user wrote.

"Wasn't CNN 'fake news'? are the MAGA morons really this stupid? oh right it's only fake news when you don't like it," added another.

"CNN has accurately called Trump far worse than 'phony (sic),'" one person wrote.

"It is telling that the right wing hate CNN until they post something the right wing can agree with. That proves those in trumplandia have zero self respect," noted another, 

"Trump has no real policies, he flings out various outrageous propositions nobody wants to waste time discussing, so avoids scrutiny that way," expressed one individual.

"Trump flips flops sometimes even in one sentence, he's flip flopped on many major issues," another remarked.
