WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump slammed MSNBC host Rachel Maddow in a late-night rant on social media, warning that she would soon be "off the air," on Saturday, January 25, reported the Daily Mail.

The attack came after Maddow, a vocal critic of Trump and his MAGA movement, compared the POTUS to the late Cuban Communist leader Fidel Castro on Wednesday, while castigating him for pardoning the violent January 6, 2021, Capitol riot offenders.

Donald Trump's takedown of Rachel Maddow

Taking to his platform Truth Social after midnight, Donald Trump called out Rachel Maddow writing, "Wow! Rachel Maddow has horrible ratings. She’ll be off the air very soon."

"MSNBC IS CLOSE TO DEATH. CNN HAS REACHED THE BOTTOM. This is a good thing," he continued, adding, "They are the Enemy of the people!"

According to the Daily Mail, Trump's post came after Maddow's steadfast criticism of his January 6 pardons.

Rachel Maddow's criticism of Donald Trump

On Wednesday, Rachel Maddow went on a rant against Steward Rhodes, founder of the far-right Oath Keepers and one of the Capitol Hill rioters convicted of seditious conspiracy, who Trump pardoned after taking the oath for office on Monday.

On the same day, Trump issued approximately 1,500 pardons and commuted the sentences of 14 of his supporters in connection with the 2021 riot, as per NBC News.

"There are rumors circulating that Trump had wanted to bring his felons - had wanted to bring these guys who violently attacked police and were convicted for it - all to the White House too," Maddow told viewers on her show.

"That's the sort of thing that probably sounded great at a Trump rally, probably sounded like it was something the people wanted, when you were stewing about stuff like this at a Trump rally," she continued.

"At one of your Fidel Castro, Castro-esque, you know, three and a half hour long rambly speeches where most of the people left before you were halfway through it," added Maddow, offering the shocking juxtaposition.
