PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump tried explaining the 'specific mechanics' of how he would bring prices down if elected as the president during an interview on Sunday, September 22.

During an episode of 'Full Measure with Sharyl Attkisson', the host asked the former president about the steps that would be taken in a second term to bring the prices down, per Mediaite.

Attkisson asked the GOP nominee, "Kamala Harris has been very short on specifics when it comes to economy other than saying she wants an opportunity economy. What are the specific mechanics of how prices come down? You know, the steps that would be taken in a second term for you?"

The former president replied by taking a jab at Vice President Kamala Harris and said that she could not do one interview. He added that Harris "talks about her lawn when she was growing up."

Trump, who seemed deviated from the question, said, "So first of all, she can’t do an interview. She could never do this interview because you ask questions like give me a specific answer. She talks about her lawn when she was growing up. This woman is not equipped to be president."

He added, "She’s not equipped to deal with President Xi – I took in hundreds of billions of dollars with him. And Putin, we had no war with Putin. Remember, and I’m just going to go off just for this. With Bush, they took a lot. Russia."

He went on to say, "With Biden, they’re trying to take everything. With Obama, they took a lot. With Trump, Russia took nothing. Just remember that. It’s a little, a little chart. But what happened, and when you look at what took place, was so sad."

Trump added that when the Democrats took over, they cut the oil down and the prices went through the roof at $10 per gallon. He mentioned that it was going to go to numbers that nobody has ever seen so they went back to the Trump drilling.

He said, "They said, let it go back. That was the only good thing. But they stopped, because I would be there, but four years later, I would be triple what the number was. Right now, they’re just about even where I was. But they only did that because of the fact that they eventually have an election coming up."

Trump says prices come down with energy

During his rant, Trump said that the Democrats are going to destroy lives. He said, "They’re going to destroy – what they have done to this country, and especially in the sense of allowing millions and millions of people come in because that’s something. You know, we can fix the gasoline situation, and we can fix the – anything."

Sharyl Attkisson asked Trump, bringing him back to the topic, "Do prices come down magically, because it’s not them?" and he replied, "They come down with energy, and they come down with interest rates. We’re going to get, as I told you, we’re going to get energy down by 50% in 12 months. We’re going to have it."

He added, "It’s going to be a major smash on energy. If you look at the energy for and I’m not just talking about cars, I’m talking about air conditioning, heating, your basic energy operating a bakery, operating any kind of a business, it’s all having to do with energy."

Internet mocked Trump for his explanation of bringing prices down

Many people on the internet mocked Trump as he tried explaining the 'specific mechanics' of how he would bring prices down if elected as president.

A user wrote on X, "This is becoming his response to every question related to the economy. Energy and interest rates. He'll just slash prices and rates and all wrongs will be righted," while one added, "What Trump doesn’t understand is that lower oil prices create higher natural gas prices. This has the direct effect of increasing the cost of electricity for consumers. He has no idea of what he’s talking about."

A person also stated, "So he's going to force energy companies to flood the market and crash oil and gas prices? Because they sure aren't going to do that voluntarily."

Another wrote, "It’s important to uplift that the response is incoherent to avoid the impression that his answer was actually responsive."

A user also wrote, "Sanewashers, assemble!" while one commented, "He cannot answer a question because he he has no answers. Just bull s**t."

A person also added, "He said “words”, but made absolutely no sense. He very rarely does. He is so ignorant, and has mush for brain," whereas one said, "He is certifiably insane. Lost his marbles."
