Jimmy Kimmel mocks Donald Trump's $100 silver coin and Melania's $600 ‘Vote Freedom’ necklace grift
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Jimmy Kimmel turned up the heat on Donald and Melania Trump's efforts to appeal to their supporters through pricey MAGA-themed merchandise.
During his monologue on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' on Monday, September 23, Kimmel slammed Trump's latest fundraiser attempt by announcing the launch of an expensive commemorative silver coin and the couple's broader strategy of cashing in on the election buzz.

Donald Trump's coin mocked for overpricing
Jimmy Kimmel mocked Donald Trump’s announcement of a so-called “official” silver coin featuring his face and designed by himself.
Priced at $100, the coin contains just $31 worth of silver. “The Trump coin, it should be noted, costs $100. It contains $31 worth of silver,” said Kimmel.
“What captures the essence of Donald Trump more than charging the fans who love him most three times more than a coin is worth?” he continued.
The television host further likened the coin to a token from the children’s entertainment chain, as he joked, “$100 for a Chuck E Cheese token with his head on it.”
Ridiculing the choice of silver over gold, he pointed out the irony, “It’s the perfect gift to send him when he comes in second in November."
Kimmel concluded with a jab at Trump’s campaign, noting that “we are in the final stretch of the election, when the candidates are supposed to be making their final push to run this country, and this nut’s having a yard sale.”
Melania Trump's MAGA merchandise
Jimmy Kimmel also poked fun at Melania Trump who has reportedly joined the MAGA merchandising frenzy by putting her own high-priced items on sale.
The comedian referenced the former first lady's $600 ‘Vote Freedom’ necklace, a piece he humorously described as “Lady Liberty on the front and nothing behind it, just like Melania herself.”
Kimmel also speculated on her conspicuous absence from the campaign trail, noting that she hadn’t been seen with Trump for weeks.
He then brought up Melania’s upcoming memoir, 'Melania', teasing a segment where she supposedly shares personal stories.
Speaking about the memoir, Kimmel played a clip in which Melania recounts her experience during a George Floyd protest in 2020.
“The loud knocking on the door sent a jolt through my body. The Secret Service agent told me I needed to move," she reads in the clip.
"Fortunately, they were able to get her out in time," joked Kimmel, according to the Daily Beast.
