HAYWARD, CALIFORNIA: Footage captured by a home ring doorbell camera showed a terrifying blast erupting from a building across the street on Thursday, December 11, officials said.
The Alameda County Fire Department revealed that crews responded to a three-alarm fire in the 800 block of East Lewelling Boulevard, and eight engines, two trucks were deployed to the scene.
Six people injured in massive explosion
At least six people were injured following the massive explosion in Hayward, officials revealed. Brittany Maldonado, the person who shared the video with ABC7 News, said, "We were sitting in the house and it just… everything shook. Stuff fell off the walls and when we looked at the camera it was like you were watching a war video."
Meanwhile, utility company PG&E said it was informed that an underground gas line was damaged at around 7:30 local time by a third-party construction crew working in the area.
Six people were injured and three buildings were destroyed in a residential explosion and fire Thursday morning near Hayward in Alameda County, which happened hours after a construction crew hit an underground gas line.

Moreover, the street has been undergoing a project to widen pavements and improve bike lanes. The utility company added that its crews responded and worked to stop the flow of gas.
The incident took place in a residential and commercial area near Highway 238 in Hayward.
Witnesses describe seeing victims walk out of home after explosion
While talking to Bay Area, some residents said two women in pajamas, walked out of their home after the explosion with severe physical injuries, and neighbors and paramedics ran to their aid.
Oscar Vazquez, a resident in the area told the news outlet, "The younger girl had blood all over the face. She was in complete shock. I think there might have been something with her arm being dislocated because she had kind of like an awkward position."
"They looked in shock and easily that the explosion took out their ear drum - I assume - because people were trying to talk to them and they were not really hearing it," the resident added.

Moreover, Vazquez said the two women walked slowly out of the home where the explosion took place. One of them was described as an older woman.
The neighbour described seeing an older woman walk out, "Just looked like she was about to fall over. She was having a hard time walking. Some of the neighbors were helping her walk away from the debris and getting her to a safe place."
Ryan Nishimoto, deputy chief for the Alameda County Fire Department, said, "There were people with different extends to their injuries. Three were considered immediately transfer and three were minor injuries."

Furthermore, Eden Hospital confirmed that one of the three victims brought in in serious condition remains in their care, while other two patients were transferred to other hospitals.
Roberto Morales, PIO for Alameda County sheriff's office, added, "When they arrived here, they immediately started looking at - okay, they saw a hazardous area and they started getting people and moving them to safety and then they started organizing rides to hospitals."
