Doug Emhoff's ex-wife Kerstin Emhoff criticizes Melania Trump's absence from 2024 campaign
CHICAGO, ILLINOIS: Kerstin Emhoff, the ex-wife of Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, took a dig at Melania Trump's absence from her husband Donald Trump's 2024 campaign.
This comes amid Kerstin's enthusiastic support for Vice President Kamala Harris as she attended the Democratic National Convention (DNC).

Kamala Harris' unique blended family
Despite their divorce 14 years ago, Kerstin maintains a close relationship with Doug Emhoff and his current wife Kamala Harris.
Together, the trio co-parents Doug and Kerstin's children Ella and Cole Emhoff.
Their modern blended family dynamic was on full display at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago where Kerstin joined the family for the first two days of the event.
Alongside a smiling picture of Kerstin at the convention, televison producer Ben Wexler wrote on X, "Kamala’s husband’s ex-wife is supporting her more enthusiastically than Trump’s current wife is supporting him."
Resharing the post, Kerstin who is a film producer wrote, “Damn right.”
Kerstin Emhoff outshines Melania Trump
Kerstin Emhoff's presence at the DNC has already eclipsed Melania Trump's appearances at the Republican National Convention (RNC).
While Melania made just one appearance at the RNC where her husband was named the Republican Party's official presidential nominee, Kertsin has been actively involved in the DNC, sharing her experiences on social media.
In an Instagram post, she shared a selfie with Harris' vice presidential pick Tim Walz and her children Ella and Cole.
“It was like new members of the family,” the 57-year-old captioned the post.

Kerstin has been a vocal supporter of Harris both politically and personally, attending her 2021 inauguration as vice president and regularly speaking out in her favor, according to The Independent.
Kerstin Emhoff defends Kamala Harris against political attacks
In July, when comments made by Republican vice-presidential candidate JD Vance resurfaced, attacking Kamala Harris and other Democrats as "childless cat ladies," Kerstin fired back.
In a statement to CNN, Kerstin said, "These are baseless attacks. For over 10 years, since Cole and Ella were teenagers, Kamala has been a co-parent with Doug and I."
"She is loving, nurturing, fiercely protective, and always present. I love our blended family and am grateful to have her in it," she added.
Internet supports Kerstin Emhoff's presence at DNC amid Melania Trump's absence from campaign
As Kerstin Emhoff's presence at DNC comes in sharp contrast to Melania Trump's more subdued support for her husband at the RNC, netizens praised Kerstin's unwavering support for Harris and mocked Melania's absence from the campaign.
One user on X wrote, "Well, yes—because Kamala, her husband and Kerstin are all friends. They have mutual respect for one another and they all take care of the kids together." Another tweeted, "I was thinking the same thing. RNC wants to blab about family values ….? They were clearly on display at the DNC tonight."
