WASHINGTON, DC: Former President Bill Clinton's advisor Doug Schoen suggested that Joe Biden might have "no choice" but to drop his 2024 campaign with growing doubts about his electability and competence within the Democratic Party.

"The fact of the matter is, despite what the Biden campaign says, if the Democratic establishment, the congressional leadership, the grassroots of the party say he can't handle a campaign, he's not up to the job, he's too old – and the leadership of the party, Presidents Obama and Clinton, the congressional leadership, say the same thing publicly or privately, Joe Biden will have no choice but to drop out," Schoen told 'The Faulkner Focus' Wednesday, July 3.

Doug Schoen thinks Joe Biden will not be able to 'sustain the campaign'

"He cannot sustain a campaign if the party turns against him. And everything I'm seeing now is that is both happening and happening with great rapidity," Schoen added.

"States that were not in play, are now in play. And the seven swing states all show comfortable leads. If that continues, it will be impossible, in my judgment, for Joe Biden to stay in the race politically. And if the cognitive issues appear as serious as they did during the debate, I can tell you he will be out of the race within a couple of weeks," he continued per Fox News.

Joe Biden reportedly told a 'key ally' that he won't be able to win votes for reelection

According to a New York Times story published on Wednesday, Joe Biden confided in a "key ally" that if he can't persuade the American people that he is qualified to serve in office following his appalling debate performance, he might not be able to receive another term. Shortly after publication, Andrew Bates, a spokesman for the White House, refuted the report.

"That claim is absolutely false. If the New York Times had provided us with more than 7 minutes to comment, we would have told them so," he told Fox News in a statement.

Several Democrats have urged Joe Biden to end his reelection bid

Joe Biden, who at age 81 is the oldest president in the nation's history, is facing the roughest stretch of his bid for a second term in the White House.

Pundits, editorial writers, and party donors called for Biden to resign as the party's 2024 standard-bearer after his faltering delivery and awkward responses during last Thursday's CNN Presidential Debate sent shockwaves through the Democratic Party.

A small but growing group of Democrats in office have also called on the president to withdraw his reelection campaign in the last 24 hours.

Internet says Joe Biden 'should never' have stood for the elections

Netizens questioned the current US President's decision to stay in the hunt as well after Doug Schoen expressed concern about Joe Biden.

One X (formerly Twitter) user wrote, "He should never have been in the race."

Another wrote, "I’d say by this weekend, the writing is on the wall!"

"EXTREMELY WAY TOO EXTREMELY FAR TOO EXTREMELY LATE!" remarked someone else.

One user opined, "I wouldn't be surprised if biden's polling continues to drop. he's had a lot of issues lately and people are starting to notice."

Another added, "It shouldn't take that long."
