WASHINGTON, DC: President Joe Biden's campaign has issued a new memo to all staff members on Wednesday, July 3, hoping to allay worries about his chances of winning reelection following his sharply excoriated debate performance last week.

Fox News was able to obtain the memo which highlights internal campaign polling that indicates a close race with former president Donald Trump.

In her lifetime she was an activist and writer known to be an advocate for the elderly, affordable housing, mental health, and the protection of monarch butterflies. What does the memo state?

"We are going to see a few polls come out today and we want you all to hear from us on what we know internally and what we expect to come externally," the memo read. "Polls are a snapshot in time and we should all expect them to continue to fluctuate – it will take a few weeks, not a few days, to get a full picture of the race," it added.

Signed by campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodríguez and campaign chair Jen O'Malley Dillon, the memo presents internal battleground state polling conducted prior to and following the debate, indicating a half-point decline in Biden's support during that time.

The memo pointed to a potential upcoming The New York Times/Siena College poll, "which is likely to show a slightly larger swing in the race." "We should all keep in mind that, just last week, the NYT themselves acknowledged that they are often a polling outlier," the memo further stated.

Joe Biden is reportedly facing the toughest time of his political career

In his quest for a second term in the White House, Biden, who is 81 years old and the oldest president in American history, is currently going through the hardest part of the campaign.

Political pundits, editorial writers, and some party donors called for Biden to resign as the party's 2024 standard-bearer after his faltering delivery and awkward responses during the debate caused a great deal of anxiety within the Democratic Party.

Many House Democrats have urged the president to end his re-election bid

Furthermore, over the course of the last day, a tiny but growing percentage of House Democrats have called on the president to withdraw his reelection campaign. But, President Biden's team has maintained time and again that the candidate does not intend to withdraw.

"The president is in this race to win it," principal deputy campaign manager Quentin Fulks said on Wednesday, July 3, in a CNN interview.

Latest national polls showed red flags for Joe Biden

There were concerns about Biden in two national public opinion surveys that were released on Tuesday, July 2, following the debate.

A CNN poll found that 75% of voters and 56% of Democratic-leaning voters believed that if Biden were to step down as the party's standard-bearer, the Democratic Party would have a better chance of retaining control of the White House. According to the survey, in a fictitious matchup with the presumed GOP nominee Trump, Vice President Kamala Harris does marginally better than Joe Biden.

Donald Trump holds a six-point – 49%-43% – lead over Joe Biden

With 49%-43% of registered voters nationwide, Trump leads Biden by six points, a margin that hasn't changed since CNN's April poll. As per CNN polls conducted since last fall, it is consistent with Trump's lead. Nonetheless, the poll indicates that in a spurious fight, the vice president would trail Trump by just two points, 47%-45%.

The CNN poll's release came hours after a USA Today/Suffolk University survey also conducted Friday through Sunday indicated Trump at 41% support and Biden at 38% among registered voters nationwide. The Democratic incumbent in the White House and his Republican predecessor were tied at 37% in the previous USA Today/Suffolk University poll, which was conducted in May.

The other warning signs for Joe Biden

There were other red flags for Biden even though Trump's lead in the latest survey was within the poll's plus or minus 3.1 percentage point margin of error.

In the survey, 41% of Democrats said they would prefer to see someone else replace Biden as the leader of the Democratic Party. Only 14% of Republicans surveyed said they would like to see Trump replaced at the top of the GOP ticket.

"There's no question the debate sent out shock waves across the political landscape," Suffolk Political Research Center Director David Paleologos said. "Democrats in the poll are offering tough love to President Biden by saying to him, 'You've served us well, but try to see yourself last Thursday night through our eyes. Hold your head up high, it's time to go.'"

Joe Biden is scheduled to huddle with Democratic governors and congressional leaders

The release of the memo, which was first reported by Politico, comes hours before Biden is scheduled to meet Democratic governors and congressional leaders. The gathering follows a conference call on Monday where Democratic governors discussed the debate's aftermath.

Democratic Governors Association Chair Governor Tim Walz of Minnesota organized Monday's call. The Biden campaign knew about the call in advance, according to sources who spoke with Fox News.

Several governors have admitted the president's debate performance was weak but have remained steadfast in their support of the president, including some who have been mentioned as possible replacements in the extremely unlikely event that Biden withdraws from his reelection campaign.

Internet tells Joe Biden to get out of the race after his campaign issued a new memo to all staff members

Netizens berated Biden campaign for sending a new memo to the staff members after the president's disastrous debate performance last week. One X user wrote, "Their BIGGEST FEAR is a hearing to force him out. They must then answer those pesky questions about who knew what and when.. and WHY they refused to act to remove him. He has the nuclear football for God’s sake. Horrifying."

Another wrote, "It is what Democrats do. If a Democrat polls bad they shove in a last minute candidate," while one advised, "Get out of the race! You know you’re not able to continue!" One user mocked, "How embarrassed will Jill be knowing she got nothing anymore," and someone else remarked, "Bet Biden didn’t even read it."
