Drew Carey says he struggles to live up to Bob Barker's legacy
Paying heartfelt tribute to Barker who died on August 26, 2023, at the age of 99 after his battle with Alzheimer's disease, Carey said in September 2023 that the legendary host "was so good at this."
"He was so good at relating to people and getting them to be relaxed and be themselves. You watch his demeanor and his attitude. He never seemed stressed," he said of Barker's time on the show as a host.
Carey who admitted to occasional struggles to live up to Barker's laid-back demeanor and legacy, also opened up on the valuable lessons he learned from watching the veteran host in action during his time on the show from 1972 to 2007.
"I've learned to relax while I'm onstage and not be so uptight about what's going on," Carey said of Barker.
"I just have to own the show and make it like my living room, because he was so comfortable in front of a camera," he added, according to ET.
