AUGUSTA, GEORGIA: Scottie Scheffler has solidified his status as golf's new dominant superstar. The 27-year-old World No. 1 showcased his mastery at Augusta National, securing his second Masters green jacket in three years with a four-shot victory, as per CNN.

As Scheffler continued to establish his place among the game's giants, the internet erupted in praise for the composed Texan's latest display of excellence on one of golf's grandest stages.

Scottie Scheffler took a one-shot lead into final round

Scheffler took a one-shot lead into Sunday's final round and never looked back, firing a 4-under 68 to win by four strokes at 11-under par. His closest challenger was Masters rookie Ludvig Aberg of Sweden.

Aberg impressed on his major debut, finishing as the runner-up with a respectable 69. Meanwhile, England's Tommy Fleetwood surged up the leaderboard with an impressive 69 of his own, tying for third alongside American duo Collin Morikawa and Max Homa.

Scheffler's stunning weekend at Augusta almost didn't happen. With his wife Meredith due to give birth to their first child very soon, Scheffler had candidly acknowledged his willingness to abandon the final round mid-way should she go into labor.

In a heartfelt moment during the Green Jacket presentation ceremony, Scheffler expressed to his wife, "I love you and I'm coming home. I'll be home as quick as I can. I can't put into words what it is like to win here again and what it will be like to become a father for the first time."

Scottie Scheffler's Augusta win makes him 18th player with more than one Masters win

Scheffler will have another chance to win big at the Valhalla Golf Club in Kentucky in May while competing in the PGA Championship. Brooks Koepka won it for the third time last year.

He arrived at Augusta with momentum from winning two out of his last three tournaments - the Arnold Palmer Invitational and the Players Championship - and securing second place at the Houston Open.

Scheffler’s ninth PGA Tour title, his third win in the last four tournaments, makes him the 18th player with more than one Masters win. He's also the fourth youngest to do it, after Jack Nicklaus, Seve Ballesteros, and Tiger Woods.
