'The Heart' explores the story of a grieving son with an unusual request from his deceased mother. In a festival segment, Malia shared insights, describing the film as addressing "lost objects, lonely people, forgiveness, and regret" while seeking tenderness and closeness in those aspects.

Malia said, “The film is about lost objects and lonely people and forgiveness and regret, but I also think it works hard to uncover where tenderness and closeness can exist in those things."
