During the video call, Dwayne Johnson chatted with Kane, his twin brother Dennis, and their parents, Christine and Charlie, from Kane’s hospital room.

Although Kane couldn’t speak, Johnson shared, “I felt this little boy’s smile, and felt this little boy’s mana,” adding in the caption, “His mana was beautiful. His mana was strong.”

The actor recognized several Moana-themed items in Kane’s hospital bed, including a Maui hook, as well as Hei Hei and Moana dolls.

Johnson also noticed Kane was wearing a friendship bracelet similar to one his daughter Tiana made for him.

The call ended with Johnson singing Moana’s 'You’re Welcome,' with the family joining in.

Johnson even worked Kane and Dennis into the lyrics before the video transitioned into Israel Kamakawiwoʻole’s 'Over the Rainbow' alongside a montage of Kane’s life moments.

Johnson said it was a “rush wish” request from Make-A-Wish America and that he was honored to fulfill it.

“On March 11th, I had the privilege of making Kane’s wish come true,” Johnson wrote. “One week later on March 18th, brave Kane passed on.”

He added, “Kane LOVED MAUI and loved bringing his Maui hook 🪝 everywhere he went.”

Reflecting on the video session, he wrote, “He also wanted to sing ‘You’re Welcome’ 🎶 🌊 And that’s exactly what we did. He may have been quiet, but in his heart, Kane was just singing away ... ”

Addressing Kane’s parents, Johnson said, “To his parents, Charles and Christine, I’m so deeply sorry for your loss. Sending all my love, light and aloha. Stay strong.”

He also had words for Kane’s twin: “And lastly, to his twin brother, Dennis ... man you’re an AWESOME brother and I can’t wait to shake your hand one day 🫱🏾‍🫲🏼.” Johnson joked, “Thanks dude for helping me sing You’re Welcome … you made it sound good!!! 😅🤜🏾🤛🏻.”
