PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA: Philadelphia Eagles' quarterback Jalen Hurts is being praised over social media for his cool reaction to President Donald Trump planning to attend a game between his team and the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, February 9.

According to Fox News, Trump is set to become the first sitting POTUS to attend a Super Bowl. His expected presence has garnered excitement in many quarters and earned him verbal tributes from Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce.

Jalen Hurts' take on Donald Trump attending Super Bowl

When reporters asked 26-year-old Jalen Hurts how he felt about Donald Trump attending his upcoming game during a press conference on Tuesday, he gave a lukewarm reply saying, "He's welcome to do what he wants."

He was asked a follow-up question on whether he would feel any added pressure in the game with the president in attendance, to which he stated, "No, ma'am."

Hurts is not the only player in his team to dismiss Trump's appearance as a key issue ahead of the game.

Eagles offensive lineman Jordan Mailata echoed Hurts' sentiment, stating on the subject, "That's cool, but Donald is not on that field. That's cool, but, again, that's blocking out the noise. What am I going to do thinking about Donald Trump? How is that going to make me win the game?"

Earlier this week, Kelce called Trump's presence at the game an "honor," stating, "I think, you know, no matter who the president is, I know I’m excited because it’s the biggest game of my life, you know. And having the president there, you know, it’s the best country in the world. So, that’d be pretty cool."

His thoughts were echoed by Mahomes, who shared, "It's always cool to be able to play in front of a sitting president. Someone that is at the top position in our country."

"Jalen is great. As a player and with PR. Nice neutral statement to not alienate any of his fans. I hate the media for trying to stir stuff up like this. Ask him about football, not politicians," shared another.

"Great answer to a stupid question," noted one user.

"Smart call by Jalen. You are NOT going to catch him slipping," quipped someone else.

"Good answer Jalen, you don't need the distraction," expressed another.

"This is a typical Jalen answer to any question. He’s focused on the game and that’s all," stated a user.

"Thank you for not getting political! Let’s leave sports to entertain us, not lecture us!" exclaimed yet another.
