NEW ORLEANS, LOUSIANA: Travis Kelce received praise from 'The View' hosts for his response to Donald Trump’s planned attendance at the Super Bowl on Sunday, February 9.

The panel described the Kansas City Chiefs tight-end's remarks about the president as diplomatic and respectful.

Alyssa Farah Griffin says Travis Kelce gave a 'classy and diplomatic answer'

Travis Kelce was asked about Donald Trump’s upcoming visit during a press conference on Wednesday, February 5.

He responded by calling it "a great honor", making sure to keep his focus on the game while avoiding controversy.

'The View' hosts were not upset that Kelce didn’t criticize Trump, with Alyssa Farah Griffin, who says she is a Taylor Swift fan, saying she was "not mad about it."

“I thought it was pure, totally classy and diplomatic answer, and it’s his big day to be playing,” Griffin said.

She added, “The presidency is bigger than any one person. He is proud that the president of the United States is there, I don’t know that it’s any kind of statement about Donald Trump, specifically," reported Deceider.

Ana Navarro believes a strong opinion against Donald Trump would have affected Chief's team

Ana Navarro pointed out that if Travis Kelce had made any inflammatory remarks, it could have brought unnecessary distractions to his team.

“Imagine though, if he had said something about Trump, it would have been taken out on his team, and all the hate that his team would receive as they’re heading into the Super Bowl,” Navarro said.

Sara Haines echoed similar thoughts, explaining that Kelce’s measured response kept the focus on football.

“Anything else he said would have made it about something else and not about them. He’s dressed in his uniform … you’re representing more than yourself. He made a point of saying, ‘I love this country,’” Haines said.

Sunny Hostin suggests Travis Kelce was subtly sending a message

Sunny Hostin, however, noted that Travis Kelce’s words were intentional, given that Donald Trump has previously criticized Taylor Swift.

“I’m pretty sure that Travis Kelce knows that [Trump hates Swift],” Hostin said.

“He was being a diplomat, and I think he did the right thing by not giving in to this madness,” Hostin added.

She added that by saying he loved the country but not specifically the president, Kelce kept things civil.
