Talking with The New York Times' ‘The Interview’ podcast, the star was discussing Marlon Brando’s interest in meeting him in person, when he was a newcomer in the industry at one instance.
That’s when Murphy shared that he was ‘hip’ at one time but now he won’t be able to recognize younger talents.
"I used to be so hip, I used to know who everybody was, and now there's just so much stuff. [I] ask my wife, 'Who's this person?'" Murphy revealed, adding that he doesn't "even know what's going on."
During the same interview, the 63-year-old once again mentioned Paige Butcher as his wife.
"I watch every night at six o'clock when I eat dinner, watch Steve Harvey and Family Feud and on Tuesdays I watch The Masked Singer," he said, before adding, "My wife and I, we watch all those shows with singing competitions and that kind of stuff."
Murphy is also a parent to five other children, Eric, 34, Christian, 33, Myles Mitchell, 31, Zola Ivy, 24, and Angel Iris, 17.
In an unfortunate event, a terrifying collision between two stunt cars on the set of Eddie Murphy's film 'The Pickup' left several crew members with fractures to their skulls and backs in April, per Daily Mail.
The production company stated that it is "still in the process of gathering facts on what happened and why, but first and foremost our thoughts are with those who are recovering."
