TWO RIVERS, WISCONSIN: An amber alert was issued for the missing 3-year-old Elijah Vue, leading authorities to focus their investigation on his mother Katrina Baur, and a caretaker Jesse Vang, both of whom are currently detained in Manitowoc County Jail on charges related to child neglect.

For context, Elijah Vue was last spotted at approximately 8 am in the 3900 block of Mishicot Road on Tuesday, February 20 as per Law&Crime.

As the search continues, it has been revealed that the toddler's mother provided false information about her whereabouts over the past week during the investigation.

Authorities have largely remained silent on the matter, but according to reports, a prosecutor stated on Friday that Katrina Baur, aged 31, provided false information about her whereabouts during the investigation.

Jesse Vang, aged 39, is also charged in connection with the case because Baur entrusted Elijah Vue to his care, making it his responsibility to ensure the child's well-being.

"She intentionally sent that child for disciplinary reasons for more than a week to the residence," remarked Manitowoc District Attorney Jacalyn LaBre.

The attorney added, "She was aware of the tactics used and the lack of care provided. This was an intentional thing by her. And, on at least two occasions, during the interviews she has provided false information on her whereabouts during the past week."

Baur's bail is set at $15,000, while Vang remains in custody on a $20,000 bond.
