NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Elisabeth Hasselbeck blasted Megyn Kelly on Tuesday, March 3, after Kelly suggested that American service members killed during 'Operation Epic Fury' did not die for the United States, but for foreign interests.

Hasselbeck delivered the rebuke during an appearance on 'The View' and sharply criticized Megyn Kelly's remarks.

Visibly emotional, Hasselbeck took direct aim at Kelly’s remarks.

“How dare you, Megyn Kelly. How dare you tell a military person who has sacrificed their lives for our nation in our uniform,” Hasselbeck said.

“When they are sacrificing their lives in our uniform, how dare you tell them or their families or our nation what they died for.”

Co-host Joy Behar interjected with a lighthearted warning that Kelly would likely respond publicly. “You better be careful,” Behar joked.

“I’m not afraid of her,” Hasselbeck shot back.

Megyn Kelly draws flak, Trump responds

The exchange stems from comments Kelly made on her own program a day earlier, as she reacted to the joint US–Israeli strikes that killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

“No one should have to die for a foreign country. I don’t think those service members died for the United States. I think they died for Iran or for Israel,” Kelly said.

“No one is crying that the Ayatollah is dead, but our government’s job is not to look out for Iran or Israel. It’s to look out for us.”

Her comments ignited backlash, particularly among conservatives who support President Donald Trump’s decision to authorize the strikes.

Kelly was not alone in voicing skepticism. Commentator Tucker Carlson while speaking to ABC News argued that the conflict was being “waged” on behalf of Israel and described the strikes as “absolutely disgusting and evil.”

President Trump responded hours later as he spoke to 'The Inner Circle', dismissing Carlson’s criticism as having “no impact” on his decision-making and suggesting Kelly should “study her history book a little bit.”

Trump further added “I think that MAGA is Trump, not the other two and MAGA loves what I’m doing”.

Responding particularly to Megyn Kelly, Trump said “Megyn was opposed to me for years when I ran the first time and nothing stopped me. And so, you know, some people are against and they always come back. She came all the way back. But now I guess she maybe doesn’t like the idea of this war, but I do because I have to keep nuclear weapons out of the hands of the Iranians.”
